I would love to see a "what we eat in a day/week" video showing how you use the food in your pantry on a daily basis!
It seems they don't eat... Just collect 🙄😊
I'd love to get the address!
The majority of the food they have is a pretty terrible diet if they had to rely just on that. Once there chicken was gone they would be pretty fucked.
@@shoota117 You have a funny definition of terrible.
@@shoota117 How do you figure it's a terrible diet? They have meat (chicken and beef), beans, vegetables, fruit, potatoes, eggs as well as grains, flour, nuts and wheat. What do you mean "run out of chicken"?
DON'T keep your onions so close to your potatoes. That's what's making your potatoes sprout. I learned this a few years ago quite by accident. You keep them totally separate (even in separate rooms) and you'll find your potatoes last much, much longer.
Thanks for the tip!
Apples too...
@@kirstypollock6811 Was just about to comment that. Always keep your apples in a separate room if you can.
I learned this the hard way too. It's helpful in the spring if you want to get your seed potatoes sprouting before you plant them.
both apples and onions produce high levels of ethylene gas, thats what makes the potatoes to ripe. And the potatoes' high moisture content can cause onions to go bad.
Apples distribute a gas called ethylene which makes other fruits and veggies mature, or in your case sprout. Here in Austria, having a similar climate to you guys, we spay some lavender oil over the cloths that covers the potatoes as lavender prevents sprouting and we have fresh potatoes in storage from October till April/may
Wow, thank you for this tip
I am not sure if it is the same but i remember storing carrots in peat moss, they lasted LONG time that way.
You can also increase the storage time of just about every fruit or vegetable by washing them with a dilute of water and a small amount of bleach. Effectively the bleach kills the bacteria that will cause them to spoil and while eventually new bacteria will find your food it takes some time. Just remember to rinse them when you are done with the wash, even though the bleach is highly dilute and wont hurt you... still you probably dont want to eat bleach if you can avoid it.
Where I work we store bananas in a separate temperature controlled room well away from everything else... We did some trials with an ethelyne scrubber, it definitely removed quite a bit of the ethelyne from the air but wasn't needed in our case as the bananas were moving faster than any benefit the scrubber gave.
Shame, was a cool gadget.
@@islandwills2778 thats a very stupid idea. If you really want to kill the bacteria - I'd recommend using ultraviolet lamp. Thats a way to kill patogens but leave food as clean as it is.
I would love to see a video where you cook dinner using all freeze dried items!
Same here. I'm wondering if they need to be reconstituted first, or if using them in a soup if you just have to add a little extra liquid.
@@jgood005 well I can answer that from experience. You can reconstitute in things other than water. So for sure if you are making soup you can just add to your broth, milk etc. whatever the soup base is.
The variety in one house blows my mind. A few times a year I manage to use lentils or dried beans. I’m a failure!😂
Thanks again for the pantry tour. You're the only ones I know raising 95% of your own food! Congratulations! What an accomplishment. You all are truly amazing!
I just wanted to pass on huge appreciation for your dedication to family and your homestead. Huge amount of work but so important. God bless.
I would love to see a spring pantry tour of what you used up and what was left before you start preserving again.
If you are looking to expand your berry garden, strawberry gooseberry jelly is my favorite. Gooseberries are so high in natural pectin so you don't need to add any to the recipe which lowers the cost too.
I find it amazing all the things you know and do for your family. It’s beautiful.
WOW I admire this and what you have accomplished! Such a clean layout
Loved this pantry tour! It's great to see how you've organized it and how you rotate through everything. Thanks so much for sharing!
Ty for sharing your pantry with us. You have worked very hard to persevere all your foods to provide for your family! Excellent job
Oh my goodness, this is so amazing! I love all of your pantries! I was feeling pretty good about what I had accomplished this year but now I need to go through and really figure out everything else I could add and how I could rearrange things to work better. Thanks so much for sparking, interest, and inspiration!
Your pantries are amazing and inspiring, thanks for sharing all of your hard work and love for your family!!
Your pantry is so beautiful!!! All the canning you have done … it’s amazing. I haven’t canned in 30 years but want to get back into it…. 2023 goals !!!
I have watched this video so many times… it gives me joy. I have also watched many other videos of yours many times to watch how you are gardening and preserving your crops . So thank you! For sharing
Such amazing work! I hope you, Cam, and the kids are very proud of what you’ve accomplished here!
I’m sure it’s such a wonderful feeling to provide and care for your family and yourselves.
I am slowly trying to become more like you guys! We do a huge garden every year but haven’t been so strict about preserving like you guys have. Very very motivational indeed! 😊
Your pantry tours are my absolute favorite videos that you share. I appreciate the honesty. Your organization is so incredible too
It's great to see all of your hardwork that goes into clean living for your family. Very motivational.
You're a legend. Hard work, consistent, dedicated, great stuff!
Such a huge amount of hard work has gone into each and every jar. You are all a great team.
Enjoyed seeing your pantry tour. Once again, the fruits of your labor have provided you with a nice harvest! God Bless.
So exciting and so much hard work that has gone into these successes! Thanks for sharing! ❤
one of the videos I was most looking forward to this year. love to see the sustainability
Your pantry is so inspiring! We’ve been transforming a space to be our new pantry and it’s a lot of work. I’m looking forward to having things in order and readily available. We’re empty nesters so we are not utilizing a space as large but I’m so very happy to have it! Thanks for sharing you space with us.
I’m so fascinated by this whole canning and preserving process.🤗
Thanks for letting me come along with you. It feels so good to open a jar, and have the memory of growing, harvesting, and preserving. I hope you like the pickled beets.😊
AMAZING!!! Good for you... You are working so hard and it has definitely paid off... I love your set up!!
I’m so impressed with everything!!!!! WOW!!! Oh WOW!!!!
This is indeed an impressive stash. You'll be safe and won't worry when something unexpected happens or there are supply chain disruptions. Inspires me to be more prepared myself.
Just amazing... at a loss for words! Keep these videos coming!!
Really great to see people doing this, my mom used to do this sort of stuff too back the day but on a small scale. Still though, the stuff she pickled was enough to last for quite a while. Having the ingredients on your deck readily available is always good especially when they're not in season and you're kind of craving for it. Especially when the going gets tough you have food prepared. Great stuff.
Thank you for sharing. You are truly amazing and blessed! You've inspired me to keep going and learning new things.
Love this video!! Look forward to it every year!!
Great work! Such a beautiful display of homegrown goodness.
Just came across your videos yesterday. What a wonderful couple you are, so much hard work and dedication. Here in Ireland we store a crop of potatoes by digging a large trench in the ground, line it with sacking or cardboard and cover over with soil.
I’m just absolutely amazed at all you and your families hard work! That pantry/cold area is incredible! I would so love to do this my ocd loves how you work and organize everything! Merry Christmas!!
Traumhaft.....Eure Speisekammern🤩🤩🤩
I wanted to let you know that I just found you yesterday. I really appreciate you showing your whole family helping. I find it frustrating when you tubers, with kids, only show the mom doing all the work. My kids always help. That's how they learn. Thank you.
So many great ideas thank you for showing all the variety that is possible when building food security. This will be my 1st year starting in a greenhouse in the Pacific Northwest; I can’t wait to preserve my harvest this year 😁
What an inspiration you are! Great space & so organized! Well done!😊❤
Amazing thankyou for all your time and effort in the kitchen, as a mom and making these videos!! 🎉❤
When I was a kid, we lived on a farm in Indiana and had a huge garden. Mom would be up late doing all kinds of canning. If we could grow it, it would be canned. Absolutely the best food you ever had. 😁💓
Very neat and amazing! - as a korean, one tip for Kimchi- the best temperature for Kimchi is 0-4°C: eat in cold is the best. That's why every Korean houses have special Kimchi refrigerator seperately. If the temperature is hot, Kimchi jar will be blow up and kimchi will turn to be very very sour!! Especially cumcumber Kimchi- it is better to eat when it is fresh. If you keep too long, the texure is not good too eat. Eat quickly pls!!
What a beautiful pantry!You are so organized,I admire you😊
This is so satisfying to look at!
I always see those fellow bulk-buyers storing multiple bags of chips in their pantry and that is something I cannot imagine. I have no sweet tooth, but I have a brutal gene that tells me to eat all available chips at once. I salute you for being able to keep it on the shelf like that :D
🤣
Same! My family can grab enough chips to last two weeks, and then they disappear in 4 days hahaha
Amazing talent , working hard to provide many, many varieties , keep up the good work , stay safe , have fun !!!
YESSSSSS my favorite video you make every year!!!
You have a beautiful pantry!!! Thank you!!

This sounds nuts, but I would love to see a tour/round up of your small appliances! What does it take to make all this into real food for your family? I can’t tell you how helpful and inspiring this is. Thank you for sharing your hobbies, your lifestyle, and your family with all of us crazy people on the internet.

Yasssss you uploaded! I'm so addicted to your channel!
This is so cool! You have put in so much work. I would love to know how much you spend annually on preserving your food... canning lids, pickling salts, supplies to freeze dry, etc.

Thanks for sharing! That’s a lot of hard work! 🎉❤
Wow, what a awesome well stocked pantry that must’ve took a lot of hard work to do all that canning. Everything is put on the shelf so neatly.😁👻💯
Love how organized your pantry room is. I would love a room that I could keep at a constant temperature inside my house. Right now I keep most of my canned foods in my barn in what used to be a tack room.
Love your "informal" way of showing your harvest.
Beautiful hard work! You and your family have amazed me in your homestead journey with your channel. Would LOVE a video on how to make the Kimchi!!
