Why have they reduced the punishment of such criminals who swindle so may people out of their life-savings or use unsuspecting fall guys for their crimes?
A crime doesn’t just constitute money. It can also constitute just unlawfully and illegally harming any man or woman

This video gave me a lot of useful information about how a white-collar criminal thinks. It begs the question of how these criminals fare in prison. The special sensitivity theory suggests that because of their perceived social status, white collar inmates are more likely to experience additional challenges while incarcerated. The special resiliency hypothesis, however, contends that because of their particular backgrounds and experiences, white collar criminals may be better able to adapt to life behind bars. They might be able to use their intelligence and creativity-qualities that helped them commit those crimes-to survive in a prison setting. It's an intriguing idea that deserves more investigation and research, both in terms of its implications for white-collar criminals and how it affects the criminal justice system as a whole.

It’s not just the amount you can get away with and the lower punishment, it’s also about the fake appearance of scamming people to think that what they are doing is lawful and legal, something most people do that claim to be government officials and judges. It’s all a facade to steal your credit. But he didn’t mention that part.
Many politicians that read the law (or anyone who could), seek loopholes to exploit. This is very unfortunate.
Also the punishment is actually harsher hence why corporates and execs evade being convicted as much or best possible for it

I disagree. There is a moral difference between committing a white collar crime as they are removed from the impacts of their actions.
Can you truly argue that someone willing or someone who does take someone else's life for a couple bucks is better than some accountant who fudges numbers?
There are degrees of evil & street crime is so morally reprehensible that it deserves far stricter sentences. One cannot compare how gangs manipulate & abuse kids to hook them in, or how the drug trade destroys entire communities to white collar crime as it seems fairly mundane in comparison.
I know someone whose mother died to a drug overdose, I would rather have a hundred what collar criminals roam free if it meant that the person who introduced their mother to drugs could be in jail. Street crime is far more despicable.
Get rid of white collar and federal prisons and start treating criminal politicians and corporate thieves as regular population prisoners. I suspect many so called caring politicians would find another profession and quickly.

They might define things differently also the countries can try to evade justice in different ways than if only in One like U.S. differently it also depends on when and where and which laws are there or not and broken or not

Absolutely no one should be committing crimes. But those at the top are doing whatever they want and getting away with blue murder! :( And it's always the ordinary people who suffer for it.

From what I see as a recurring theme with the white collar criminals is that more often than not the ones that get hammered like Madoff compared to those like Christophe Rocancourt who ended up receiving jaw droppingly light prison time in comparison is that of restitution even if it's not complete restitution. Plus a lawyer whose able to negotiate a favorable plea agreement also that manages to mitigate the amount of charges and their severity of penalties. Also if you also aren't literally reducing their victims to losing their life savings too. That is why Madoff got so destroyed. Christophe though still taking 5 figure amounts wasn't bankrupting his victims in doing so.
What confuses me with these people that rip people off like this is how much more work is involved to be legit instead? At these levels yes the returns may not be so high but to be on the level can't be that much more involved. Or am I missing something? Especially with all these crypto scams is concerned any way tangenting of there
Sholam Weiss received an over 800 year sentence. He was commuted and then released in 2021.

Definitely know what he's talking about,my family was sorta well off, and I could not believe how kids from doctors ECT family,sorta rich were actually criminals. Worst there parent enabled them sad parenting, narcissistic big time,yup money talks, I hated those kids ,and ended up sorta poor but happy,money can't buy being real. They labeled people, who's family,was better , snubbing others that wasn't up to there standard, what sick and pathetic kids They produce,.I saw it younger and hated be those people,.

The fallacy of the assumption is that there is a low risk. A freshman in college could figure out that if you swindle a bank or rig a stock in this digital age getting caught is easy. This clip is intellectually lacking and seems cliche ridden and not well thought out.
