I have wondered if the floating skeleton could be the wife of Balgruf, and the reason for it float is that she was a kind of a witch.
Now you mention it, Irrileth's path finding to her sleep/break schedule is heading to the Jarl's bedroom? Balgruff is such a SIMP!

Finding the sword on the water was one of the best bits of my first time playing Skyrim. That might be the very thing which made me fall in love with the game.
I did not know about the keys to Wintersand Manor, nor about the poor guard who got smashed to smithereens.
I found the note from Christoff to Maven in my most recent playthrough, and I went to Whiterun to look for him but I missed the note from Maven to Cristoff, so that was good to solve that little mystery!
Nazeem could be the one cheating.
He does like naked men a bit too much.

There's a chance that if the skeleton under Dragonsreach is a former acquaintance of Maven, he would have been killed by Gabriella. She likes hiding bodies in water.
Hypothesis, not theory.
Kind of wish there was more to Wintersand manor and the skeleton under Dragonreach, would've made neat little side quests. Solve the mystery of the skeleton and help Ahlam, *cough* remove *cough* Nazeem or maybe even make him less of an insufferable jackass, if that's possible.
