I needed to swap out my modem and in doing so my printer needed to be set up again. The key critical item you mention that HP does not is to DIRECTLY CONNECT TO THE ROUTER during wifi direct setup (I wiped everything at this point and started from factory default on both my laptop and phone...the printer as well by hitting the reset button sequence but the network was still saved in HP smart) and once in there you can go to the network settings and change the network and password. Thank you so much for this piece of information. Half an hour of frustration at HP solved in 2 minutes watching your video.

I used to use an Epson ET-2550 czcams.com/users/postUgkxciSwynMJ7PnUvvx11rewiu-yFBkZTl53 , an early model of the ink tank style. It worked well, but had one nuisance that drove me up the wall; if you didn't put it in high quality print mode you'd get a streak across the page. I'm happy to say I have yet to see this with this printer. The print quality has been fantastic so far, the set up was super easy. All in all I'm very happy with this printer.

It may be some internal issue with printer. Try setup using a printer data cable and a Laptop.
