I have been playing around with HD for years, never making real progress. Something was missing. I've taken lessons, I've attended workshops and finally the right teacher for me comes along in these videos. Some things I never understood are finally entering my brain. I have the book to go along with the videos - for me they go hand-in-hand. I am just beginning, and have made it to this 5th lessons... yeah! The closest person to me here in Nova Scotia (Canada) who plays a hammered dulcimer is 2 hours away; and he doesn't teach lessons. So I greatly appreciate having the book and the videos. I am really enjoying the lessons!! Thank you for supplying both!!
This video was very helpful. I have the instruction manual and have been fun and been practicing an hour a day with scales. I have progressed to page 15 and feel comfortable. I turned the page and am feeling lost and a bit helpless. I'm glad I listened to CZcams lesson 5 today. I'm not so discouraged and will try these exercises. Perhaps I should do both CZcams and the manual. Thanks for the help.

I have wanted a hammered dulcimer for as long as I can remember. I love listening to them. My husband surprised me this Christmas with a 12/11 hammered dulcimer. I am thrilled to have found your instructional videos. I am watching and taking notes. I have promised myself 30-45 minutes of practice time a day. Your instructions are so easy to follow. I'm returning to my hammered dulcimer after about 7 years and starting from the beginning with these videos. This is a very methodical and understandable way to learn.

Extremely helpful!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I sold my custom made Hammered Dulcimer because I just couldn't get it but, had I known about these videos I would have had no problem learning. Thank you for helping us struggling players. I have another smaller HD coming in May 2016. Can't wait to use these videos !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Jess, I am just getting started. Really enjoying your instructional videos. Have a 12/11 Dulcimer on the way. For now I'm practicing on my tablet using the Trapezoid App for Android, just to learn where everything is. These lessons are awesome and I look forward to them each night.
