    This is fantastic. I've been pondering how to protect the gap and this clearly shows a great way. Either side of the spike (240 sling used to protect second initially), then flick over when lead has crossed. Thanks!

    Remember doing this on a beautiful sunny day 30 years ago - looks quite atmospheric now looking back, especially with the mist

    Different mountain, but I tackled Snowden in November, at the worst possible weather at the time (2022). Was crazy, beaten by winds. This seems a little more climbing than that for sure!! Fair play!

    I love the use of features to provide friction on the rope. Really shows a deep knowledge of the route.
    Hopefully not too many falls taken though; can't imagine it's very good for the rope!

    Hi Kirk great video. Doesnt the rope get damaged when you pull it through the rocks? Again great video 👏

      Using the rope for direct belays on the rock will decrease the life of the rope due to ebrasion. It is possible to damage a rope by running it over a sharp edge, so you do need to be careful.

    Hats off to you guys (well best kept on for your climb) but what an exhilerating ascent!! What I am intrigued by, is in Scotland
    much like mountainous regions elsewhere on the planet, we do suffer from tremors and aftershocks from earthquakes, does
    this not impact the higher reaches for rock navigation, as thee seems to be more disturbance of rock at altitude in past few
    years, though this is more to do with weather than siesmic activity I believe.

    • @scottk25
      @scottk25 Před 3 lety

      There is very little seismic activity in Scotland really, the odd tremor but nothing that affects navigation, that I am aware of.

      Hi, yes we regularly guide on Tower Ridge and the other ridges on Ben Nevis, especially in the summer months.

      It's really is one of the best scrambles/easy climbs I've done in the UK :)

    Guys do u using sling around that big block near tower gap ,what size of it please??

    • @eliteguides738
      @eliteguides738  Před rokem +1

      A 240cm sling is big enough to go around the block.
