  • Is scalping your lawn in the spring a huge mistake? I scalped my lawn super low and this is what it looks like after 6 days. Lawn scalping is something that is not to be scared of and will help your bermuda grass or bluemuda lawn.

You not up for the thrill of seeing if the rocks won't be picked up by the reel?

I was also worried about scalping my bluemuda too low. I only went to about 1/2” because it was its first spring. I was also advised by the author of a very informative bluemuda article not to dethatch this first year because of the youth of the KBG. Anyway yard is looking pretty good right now and should only get better once it warms up in Huntsville. Keep up the great work and keep the vids coming.

got mine down to 3/8", its newer yard and too bumpy to go lower but cant wait till it really greens up. 80s and 90s here in TX during the days but nights are in the 50s.

Considering most people scalp their yard every time they cut it. I'm sure it's okay. 😂🤣

You shoulda pre scalped before your pre scalp.

Told you to do a pre pre scalp and post scalp after the pre scalp, then light it on fire. It’s alpha grass…soooo…..

Another reason I wish I lived in a warmer state, I get to use a reel mower and cut low! lol

Always have to be careful though. I do tread heavily into FAFO territory.
