Im literally not joking i washed my hair with rice water and i put my hair in a natural pony tail LET ME TELL YOU my hair grew tremendously in a matter of like 3-4 weeks
Dr Debbie I’ve been using your rice water technique for around 7 months and my hair has grown 5 inches the growth is unbelievable I’m a 4C thank you for your advise it’s appreciated
Sorry I'm so late everyone but here are my results. I used this treatment "once a week for 5weeks" and my hair grew about 3 inches longer. It's especially good for those with lil to no edges. I used white rice and distilled water. I let it sit for 24hrs before using it. It works but it also dries your scalp and hair so i used "wild growth oil" to keep my hair and scalp moist. I still use this treatment and my hair is so healthy. I don't like making videos but i might just to show you all a before and after because i took pics. Oh yeah, my daughters don't call me Mrs. Unbeweavable anymore because i wear my own hair now instead of weaves 😂 Thanks so much for this video Debbie😘
DarknLuvly G Did you follow her instructions to the T? I’ve been reading the conditioner should follow the rice rinse to avoid dryness. How did you use the rinse? Today will be my 4th rinse. I’ve used it every week or week and a half in between my salon visits.
@@DeNay1908 yes i followed her instructions. I had to use "wildgrowth oil" tho because the rice did dry my hair out. I'm still using this treatment and my hair is so thick and full. I am actually wearing my own hair now, not weaves so much
Recipe and procedure 1 cup organic white rice (preferred) 1 cup of water Let it sit for a minimum of 12 hours and no more than 24hrs Strain Shampoo (sls free) and condition. Apply rice water for an hour and rinse thoroughly.
You are absolutely right!!! I started using rice water in June of this year. I saw results immediately! It is 10 days until Thanksgiving and my hair has grown 2 inches or a little more. My sideburns hang to right above my breast. I will use this forever. I use brown rice. I let it sit for 72 hours. I pour the rice water over my hair. I don't wash it out. I use Cantu leave in conditioner over the wet rice water hair. I comb it through. I put my hair into 2 braids and let it air dry. I hate that you can't see the progress my hair has made in just 5 months! No more breakage, it's softer, my hair is stronger. I feel sexier with my long healthy hair.
1 Peter 1: 22 Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for each other, love one another deeply, from the heart.
Bruh this actually does work. I’m 22 and my hair has never grown past my shoulder. I watched this in January of 2018 right after I cut my hair to bob cut Now my hair is almost to my waist.
si si I used it twice a week. Like it says, soak it for 24hrs. I watched another video where it said to use it everyday but that only made my hair brittle. So I used it every Sunday and Thursday only. Shapoo your hair like normal then use the rice water as a conditioner. I used to live it in to dry after shower before but it would make my hair hard when I air dried it so I washed it out after living it in while washing for about 5 - 10 minutes. At first it seemed like nothing was happening since I couldn’t see results right away but like they say, good things take time. Since 2018 it’s almost reached my waist when I straightened it but I’ve cut my hair last month since to shoulder length now and I still used it to grow it faster since my hair growth rate is very slow without it.
This has got to be the BEST video on how to use rice water in your hair. I’ve watched many, but the way Ms Debbie explains it , she deserves an A+++++. It’s so uncomplicated and you can tell she’s being real & honest, with no fluff.
It’s definitely not a myth! I’ve been doing it for a year. My hair wasn’t growing after I had someone cut it and it wasn’t the same. I discovered rice water and my hair is past my waist!!!!❤️
I love her videos🌹I was doing this back in 2018/19 and my hair grew so much. Now I’m growing it back and about to start using it again. I was doing it every 2 weeks and leaving it in for 30 minutes but not 60 minutes because it do work❤️
Thank you so much pretty lady!!!!! I have been doing it for about three days now and I literally see a difference. My hair is softer, looks full, as far as length goes, maybe a tad longer but it’s only been three days, I’ll continue doing so and hopefully see length results! Thank you, god bless! You’re very beautiful btw! 😁
I am not a doctor, but let me add this: rinse your rice twice with bottled or distilled water. use 1 cup rice to 1 1/2 cups water and soak at least 24 hours. do NOT use your hands to stir/rinse the rice. use a spoon. all the germs, etc. on your hands will also ferment. use jasmine rice. it smells wonderful. no funky smell. also, warm the drained water (don't microwave) by setting your container in a bowl or pot of warm water: unless you want the shock of pouring cold water through your hair. pour over a bowl so you can capture the runoff and repour it over your hair. just sit at the table over a container. put your head/hair in the bowl to be sure to cover the crown area. cover hair. then, rinse after 60 minutes.
Science-based, no gimmicks, and proven results. Also, I love this lady's enthusiasm! (Nice makeup as well). I almost wept in relief as I discovered this tip was so easy to make. Time to stop making excuses for my shabby hair. SUBSCRIBED!
IT WORKS!! I’m was very skeptical at first, so I just decided to try it out after reading everyone’s comments. And oh my gosh, this is so good. Please try it out. I use it with ginger+onion+rice.
It works, I use it about twice to 3 times a week (for 2 months so far) and my hair has grown about 4 inches! (Remember everyone's hair is different (I have loose curls)
My mom wants to do the big chop on me, but I refuse cause my hair is literally just EXACTLY the same as when I was 7, now I'm 11 and my hair is extremely short, that's why I want to make it loooooongeeer
This is a great video and I love the Q&A you did in the comments. I’ve looked at so many rice water videos and this is the most clear and inspirational. The only thing I do different is that I shampoo, then use rice water rinse, let it set for 30min, then I deep condition with a moisturizing conditioner. My hair is transformed! I will try your way too. Thank you for doing this video!

Why can't all online tutorials--for anything--be this well-done? PERFECT delivery of information in every way. Thank you Dr. Debbie; I am so ready to try this for the next wash day!
I use organic rice and more of the Yao women recipe. I let the rice sit for about an hr.-1 cup of rice to two cups of water. Wash the rice with my tips for several minutes drain the rice and boil the water for 10 min. with citrus skin (an organic or reg grapefruit is best) Then I add essential oils: lavender, black tea (about 5 drops each) cover it in a sanitized jar-it was cleaned with boiled water and leave it in the pantry (dark cool place for 1 wk) for fermentation. Then I put in the fridge to stop fermentation and use it in a bowl with a cup after conditioning in the sink. You can also use a spray bottle. Point being I still use the discarded rice and eat it. It tastes fine.
I just saw this 8/23/23 and I’m going to try it. I’ve lost 60lbs and the weight loss has increased my hair loss tremendously. I’m almost depressed at how much hair I loose daily. Thank you for this information.
I have tried so many products to help my hair grow since third grade. My Mother, God bless her, gave us a straightener for our hair. When we begged her to do it again she gave in. The results were abundant hair loss. You don't even want to see what I looked like all through school. My hair did not grow except the top. When the Curly perm hit the market I waited till they made it a little better before I would try it. Once I did my hair grew but would break off as soon as my natural hair started to grow and even then it was painfully slow. The repeat of this process caused much anguish. Then I tried braids, crochet, flat ironed, no matter what I did I lost hair. Now I do nothing but use moisturizers and it still is falling out and breaking off. So I am going to try this rice water. Praying that this is the answer to years of prayers.
I am going to try this rice water thing tomorrow. The rice is soaking in the water at the moment. I really hope this works 🤗❤️. Edit: I used this rice water yesterday. It worked great! 😁 I told my dad I was gonna use rice water in my hair and he seemed weirded out by it. But when he saw how my hair looked after using the rice water. He was amazed. I showed him this video and he really liked it. I'm glad I used the rice water 😁❤️
Why do people ask questions she already answered in the video? 🤦🏾♀️ She tells you exactly how she does it for it to work when she does it. Try that way. Good luck, everyone!👍🏾
I can say this method truly works, I’ve been doing it on my daughters hair for a few months now and I see tremendous growth and repair on her hair. The only difference is that I boil my rice and once it’s done (after about 20 minutes), I strain the rice in a pot and rinse it with water to dilute it. After that I cool the water, and then I refrigerate it for the next day to use. Just a hint of advice, if you like rice with meals on the side or like to eat rice for breakfast and you can store the rice that you cooked and eat it the next day. No need to waste good food. Rinsing off the starch makes the rice so fluffy!
The best tutorial video, simple and to the point. Not using 5 diff oils,3 leave in conditioners and 10 hair masks 😂 Fermenting now and will try for the first time tomorrow!
PRAISE REPORT: I did not shampoo first but used it as a Pre-Po& used a heating cap for 20 minutes prior to shampoo. I used your Rice H2O & ONION RINSE together. My hair was thicker & stronger after shampooing. THANK YOU & GOD BLESS YOU IN ABUNDANCE !!!! Nurse BJ 😁
It works, I used it the first time as a mask before deep conditioning. Put my hair in mini twist and forgot about because I didn’t think it will be fast. After a week my hair was thicker and longer. Because my hair was severely damaged before there was still some breakage so I repeated the process on wash day. After another week it became thicker and healthy looking, little to no breakage and the least shed I have ever experience. It is now part of my hair regiment every wash day (once a week or once in two weeks) but I now dilute the rice water because I am happy with the progress and health of my hair so I am just focusing on more growth and maintaining.
Soo bc no body updates I'll update you So I've always had veery thin fragile hair and my hair grew like 1cm in one year I've had my hair touching my choulders for 4 years ( but I had to cut it like 3 or 4 times in that period of time cause everytime it started getting past my shoulders my hair would brake off shed like crazy and be all damaged so I cut it again ) So we can say that my hair almost never grew And now it's been 3 weeks since I've used rice water and oh boy I've used it 5 times in 3 weeks (3 time in week 1 , I left my hair in peace for week 2 to not overwork it and 2 times this week which is week 3 ) sooooo my hair grew 1 INCH and some !!!!!! IN 3 WEEKS... Some people might find really small but for my case it's a huge acheivement My hair has never been this long in 5 YEARS GUYS it's now way past my shoulders and almost to the middle of my boobs so yeah that's my update and yeah it does really work
It does work...my hair kept breaking I have been on wigs for the last 3 years. I have just started using rice water after watching countless videos about it. I used it for 6 days straight...every night...it might be too much but now I will start using it 3 times a week then 2 times a week then once a wk. My hair has really improved in a week. It looks so strong and edges are growing. At first it felt scary lol to see my hair improve that much in just one week. I cant wait to see how it will be like in 2 to 3 months...God bless us all
Bad news in the beginning but I guess I did a little OVER KILL so that was all MY bad😅😢 last year I’d let it sit 1 hour, wash out, braid hair & spray my braids with rice water every morning. my hair got really dry even though I was moisturizing too. It thinned & broke badly. I stopped using rice water grew it back and stalled at ear level as always. I came back to your video 2 months ago because you seem so humble and sincere plus I know I have a bad habit of over doing things. This time I only used biweekly for a hour and BOOM I see the light at the end of the tunnel!! my hair would never grow pass my chin but now on month 2 (4th wash) and I’m at shoulder length babyyy! My hair is thicker, shiner and bounces like nobody’s business. I just subscribed again because I unsubscribed when my hair was snapping like some Chico sticks😂Thanks for this great information and instructions💕🙌‼️ My only advice is don’t skip moisturizing since I figure this is like a protein treatment🤔 & of course not to over do it.
Just by this comment alone I will try the rice water, I had been very skeptical about it but after seeing this video and this comment I will try it, I am actually going to do a hair journey video while doing it because I think a lot of people want to see the actual proof and journey you go through of it working. Thank you so much for your honest comment
Desire Steel, Your hair got dried out and thin because rice is packed with protein, so you have to make sure not to over-do it. Too much protein on your hair is harmful. You should not use it daily because even when you rinse your hair out, the nutrients of the rice water still stay in your hair. It makes sense that your hair got damaged because you were spraying it on your hair every morning. It's all in moderation! One a week is ideal

Seeing all this comments and watching you explain it makes me feel like there's still something I can do for my hair, I feel so relieved 🥰 I used to have shiny straight hair but somehow it started to loose volume and strength, it was freezy and looked unhealthy so I constantly had to cut it. I assumed that puberty ruined my hair and I lost confidence in that aspect... but these days i've been doing research because my dream is to have it long and shiny, and i've discovered that it wasn't puberty, maybe stress, poor mental health and unhealthy habits where killing it. But now you all have given me hope so I'm going to try this method and I'm going to come back to share my experience 😌

I had used the brown rice and my hair on my crown start growing and getting thick. I also use hair grease on my hair. I have that fast growing hair and when it's cared for right it will run away. I have that 4z hair, nappy nap . I have to get my distilled water to make some more rich water. R
I saw this video on New Years 2019 and I started using it for itchy scalp, the hair growth was secondary for me. I let this ferment forever and it stinks but the itchy/flaky scalp has been gone for 4 yrs now. So, it’s worth it!
I’ve used rice water on my hair and it really did wonders. My hair went from bleach damage and breakage to soft and healthy, and I was able to retain length. But please remember, this is a protein treatment, and you really shouldn’t do protein treatments more than twice a month. It can be damaging
@@joyeetachaudhuri4341 With normal water. Shampooing is just the first step. Then conditioner. Rinse your hair, and pour rice water over your wet hair. Wait for 30 mins while wearing a shower cap. Then rinse of with normal lukewarm water from the tap

My favorite movie was Memoirs of a Geisha. And I always remember this one particular scene where they were getting her ready for her first time and the elderly woman use hot rice water to comb and style her hair with. And thought wow her hair is sooo beautiful. I just wanted to add that because I thought it was cool how we learn from different cultures natural ways to take care of our hair and bodies . ie. rice water, aloe vera ,different oils, is just awesome to see.
I prepared this yesterday and tried it today, when I looked in the mirror my hair looked like hair in shampoo commercials..so shiny and soft. I truly believe this is going to work and can't wait to see more results !!
I saw my Grandma and mom use to used rice water to wash their hair in my country because we Asians use to eat rice. We eat only fresh 100% chemical free none GMO from our rice farm. We put rice&water and leave it for the night, then we cook and eat the rice. My Grandma&mom use the rice water to wash their hair. They have very long thick shiny black hair.
Litterly I just got out of the shower and I left it in for 10 minutes and only let the rice water ferment for about 15 mins. My hair already feels so good and thick. I can’t even imagine what it will be like when I do it really right. Thankyou so much!!! 🥳🥳🥳
Thanks for sharing. I've been doing this for about 2 mths now. My hair has gotten stronger, longer thicker& it's way more softer, not a nightmare anymore, lol. I just simply use white rice with regular water, nothing fancy

Im literally not joking i washed my hair with rice water and i put my hair in a natural pony tail LET ME TELL YOU my hair grew tremendously in a matter of like 3-4 weeks
Hi! How often did you use the rice water ? Was it once a week ?
I have a few questions, did you wash out the rice water or leave it in and if you left it in hold long did you leave it for
@LindaJohnson which rice did you use? basmati?

Dr Debbie I’ve been using your rice water technique for around 7 months and my hair has grown 5 inches the growth is unbelievable I’m a 4C thank you for your advise it’s appreciated
Vina Poleon How often do you use it?
This was the comment that I was looking for. I have 4c hair as well and I find it very difficult to get my hair to grow
Yes girl, I was scrolling looking for a sister with 4C hair to comment. Imma start giving this a try.
Thank you for posting! I wondered if it worked on 4c hair as well!
Vina Poleon can you use instant rice in a bag ?

I am actually wearing my own hair now, not weaves so much
Hi there, I reccomend using chebe powder!

Recipe and procedure
1 cup organic white rice (preferred)
1 cup of water
Let it sit for a minimum of 12 hours and no more than 24hrs
Strain
Shampoo (sls free) and condition. Apply rice water for an hour and rinse thoroughly.
Do you have to rinse the rice before fermenting the rice?

Hi. I usually wear braids, so would it be ok if I put the rice water in a spray bottle and apply it daily? Or does it need to be rinsed out?
So does it mean that after rinsing ur hair with the rice water ,u won't use clean water to rinse it again?

Thank you for sharing how you actually apply it!

Bruh this actually does work. I’m 22 and my hair has never grown past my shoulder. I watched this in January of 2018 right after I cut my hair to bob cut Now my hair is almost to my waist.
UVK please give details please
si si I used it twice a week.
UVK thank u very much 🙏🏻

How many times i have to use it ??
Thank you so much!😁I love your detailed directions.
You might have to deep condit after, for those with very porous hair/chemically processed or it will overdry it causing breakage.

This the type of video I want to see. Someone with true short hair not no damn bra length.
I use organic rice and more of the Yao women recipe. I let the rice sit for about an hr.-1 cup of rice to two cups of water. Wash the rice with my tips for several minutes drain the rice and boil the water for 10 min. with citrus skin (an organic or reg grapefruit is best) Then I add essential oils:
lavender, black tea (about 5 drops each) cover it in a sanitized jar-it was cleaned with boiled water and leave it in the pantry (dark cool place for 1 wk) for fermentation. Then I put in the fridge to stop fermentation and use it in a bowl with a cup after conditioning in the sink. You can also use a spray bottle. Point being I still use the discarded rice and eat it. It tastes fine.
I’m gonna give this a try today 🤗 anybody care for me to come back in a month and tell you what kind of results I got?

sO, I DID use ut and my hair loves it.
Praying that this is the answer to years of prayers.
let us now the results!
Unfortunately for me it dried my hair out. I had to stop using it. My hair is very fragile. 😕

EXACTLY lol!!! I LOVE Hair tutorials/tips that are SIMPLE, easy, and to the point! :D
Question. Did you do all that after the steps she gave?
Debbie, this was an amazing presentation, great information, and straight to the point. Thank you for sharing!!
Soo bc no body updates I'll update you
So I've always had veery thin fragile hair and my hair grew like 1cm in one year
I've had my hair touching my choulders for 4 years ( but I had to cut it like 3 or 4 times in that period of time cause everytime it started getting past my shoulders my hair would brake off shed like crazy and be all damaged so I cut it again )
So we can say that my hair almost never grew
And now it's been 3 weeks since I've used rice water and oh boy
I've used it 5 times in 3 weeks (3 time in week 1 , I left my hair in peace for week 2 to not overwork it and 2 times this week which is week 3 )
sooooo
my hair grew 1 INCH and some !!!!!! IN 3 WEEKS...
Some people might find really small but for my case it's a huge acheivement
My hair has never been this long in 5 YEARS GUYS it's now way past my shoulders and almost to the middle of my boobs so yeah that's my update and yeah it does really work
How is the quality and strength of your hair now, being it was so frail back then
Omgg imma try it
Great, so it works?!
Thank youuuu
Great comment lol sounds like you went through a journey glad it worked out
what moisturizer do you use?
Just by this comment alone I will try the rice water, I had been very skeptical about it but after seeing this video and this comment I will try it, I am actually going to do a hair journey video while doing it because I think a lot of people want to see the actual proof and journey you go through of it working. Thank you so much for your honest comment
Especially if you're protein sensitive, doing this more than twice a month could cause a lot of damage.

I love your willingness to learn. I am so glad that I will be apart of your journey ❤️
I always used rice water for my hair. My hair is shinier, it feels less tangle, it's smooth and thicker(after two or three months).

I saw this video on New Years 2019 and I started using it for itchy scalp, the hair growth was secondary for me. I let this ferment forever and it stinks but the itchy/flaky scalp has been gone for 4 yrs now. So, it’s worth it!
Yessss!
I’ve used rice water on my hair and it really did wonders. My hair went from bleach damage and breakage to soft and healthy, and I was able to retain length.
But please remember, this is a protein treatment, and you really shouldn’t do protein treatments more than twice a month. It can be damaging
How did you apply the rice water? Before or after washing your hair? Did you use it on dry hair or did you wet your hair first?
How to rinse the rice water??like we have again do shampoo or with normal water??
@@joyeetachaudhuri4341 With normal water. Shampooing is just the first step. Then conditioner. Rinse your hair, and pour rice water over your wet hair. Wait for 30 mins while wearing a shower cap. Then rinse of with normal lukewarm water from the tap
Hi Debbie Williams,im going to try the rice water because i think it might work for me ,I have thin ,fine ,1b type hair, its thining out & bald spot at the back si i need to do something ASAP ,thanks for all the wonderful tips and advice ,God Bless
Why are protein treatments too often bad for you? I have seen many CZcamsrs do this for several days straight and get fast results, then give their hair a break. Is this also feasible?
My favorite movie was Memoirs of a Geisha. And I always remember this one particular scene where they were getting her ready for her first time and the elderly woman use hot rice water to comb and style her hair with. And thought wow her hair is sooo beautiful. I just wanted to add that because I thought it was cool how we learn from different cultures natural ways to take care of our hair and bodies . ie. rice water, aloe vera ,different oils, is just awesome to see.
@Amilah you and your family are too silly! 😂😂😂 i thought the same too though lol
Mine too lol
Omg I loved that movie so much💕💕💕💕
That is my favorite movie!! You are so right!
Yes I remember!! This movie is in my top 5!!!
Gurl what if someone was allergic to rice. 🤣🤣😂🤣. I’m definitely going to try. You explained it so well unlike other YTers.
I prepared this yesterday and tried it today, when I looked in the mirror my hair looked like hair in shampoo commercials..so shiny and soft. I truly believe this is going to work and can't wait to see more results !!
As a Chinese who lived in a province where we have many Yao ethnic minority people, I can tell Yao women indeed use rice water to wash their hair.
Anzi Dong how often do they use it as a leave in?
I saw my Grandma and mom use to used rice water to wash their hair in my country because we Asians use to eat rice. We eat only fresh 100% chemical free none GMO from our rice farm. We put rice&water and leave it for the night, then we cook and eat the rice. My Grandma&mom use the rice water to wash their hair. They have very long thick shiny black hair.
Saichen Yang wow that’s beautiful I can imagine
Sounds like sticky rice. The type that's steamed in a basket.
How long can you store rice water? I guess in the fridge. A week, a month or longer? Because throwing away rice is not really my thing!

Wow...non gmo!
Litterly I just got out of the shower and I left it in for 10 minutes and only let the rice water ferment for about 15 mins. My hair already feels so good and thick. I can’t even imagine what it will be like when I do it really right. Thankyou so much!!! 🥳🥳🥳

Do you rinse your hair with water only after applying the rice water? Or you wash the hair with shampoo?
@@ladyofwisdom2 Did u applied it after or before taking a bath?
Anyone wanting extra updates, this is for you
1) I have straight and silky hair. It can neither be classified as thick or thin. It is somewhere in between
2) I have hair till my mid back
3) I wash my hair once in about 5 days and follow this every wash day.
4) I have used this method thrice now, and I have noticed a growth of 1/2 inch after each wash.
5) I have hair till my mid back and I want to have longer hair than my mom who has hair reaching her butt
Hopefully, I will be able to achieve this!!!! What do u guys think?
I love her enthusiasm, even though this is like the 10th time I've seen this video😂
