51 min video, thats a blessing to my day. thank you for this piece
The Caddy is definitely taking shape and looking good.!!!!
Don't chop it, looks great as is! Nice job!
I agree
I love the long videos.I’m glad you didn’t fall into the YT trap and just throw 15 minute vids at us.Digging all of your builds Bro.
You’re the best fabricator I ever seen , and you make it look so easy.
Can't wait for Cadillac to be finished......
I love those big old cars from the 1960’s. That is something that happened once and will never happen again. A combination of a good economy, cheap American gas, cheap American steel, and other things came together to make that happen. I miss round headlights, wide whitewalls, and bench seats. So cool.
BTW - the insides of the tires will clear the new bumper mounts at full lock, right? I think they will, but it’s hard to tell on camera.
That's one sinister looking Cadillac! That's not the Batmobile, it's totally a villains car! Kristina's gonna be haulin' around robbin' banks and jewelry stores with it!! ^^
Love it! Greeting from Sweden
Thanks Karl! Caddy is going to be so cool. 😎👍🏼💪🏼
Caddy looks like a rocket ship without its nose cone,in that shot of it on the lift. 👏
Nah
I'm sixty five, so I grew up with these running around, original, this is one of the best looking custom of this style I've seen coming together. I've wrenched better than fifty years, and am really enjoying you pulling this together, and your fine skills, demonstrated at every turn. I've been welding since about fifteen, and it's great to see your skills well mirroring the guys who were doing the body, sheet metalwork, while I was turning wrenches on the drive train and such. I've got the time to sit around and learn it now, and never had it in the past. I'm looking forward to seeing this one drive out of the shop. Thanks for sharing your work.
Steering at full drop is now a requirement, creeping caddy is a must!
Awesome work! You and your buddies are killing it!
Now that Finished the video the love you have for working on her car shows so much. And wow!!!!!
I think that's the best use of a forklift to hang a hood. I know how heavy Caddy hoods are. I usually get 2 people to help me replace one
I think you have the best show on the internet. You are the bomb !!!!
Thanks man !
I love how you taped/covered up all the glass. That's a pet peeve of mine. I can't count how many video's, t.v. car show's and shops in real life I've seen where they're to lazy to cover the glass. I've seen plenty of burnt glass and glass explode from welding and grinding. Keep up the great shows Karl. This caddy your building is inspiring me to layout my 64 coupe deville.
Karl you should ABSOLUTELY angle the rad support so you can drive it that low 😍😍
Karl, always love the content you've been killing it lately with all the Fab, love the long videos. Definitely one of the most underrated and best channels on CZcams.
You amaze me Karl...
My uncle had a 60 cady.
And you are right I've never seen one that low... AWESOME KARL
How badass would this Cadillac be with a tilt front end!!??? I used to have a 70 Chevy with all metal tilt front end... You wouldn't need the lost hood hinge..🤣 Great work and video as always!! Extremely inspirational..
Coming along nicely. Thanks for the video; it's a gas watching you work.
I’m loving that little Buick. You have so many neat things going on. I also think you are a very talented metal shaper and fabricator. I’m 73 and have been doing the same for most of my life and you have taught me some things since I’ve been watching. Really enjoying your channel 👍
I'm sixty five myself, and really enjoying seeing this quality of work, still proceeding. I've learned a lot, never had the time to watch in my youth, working on the mechanic end. It's great to see the younger guys doing it as well as it ever was.
I am in awe of your ability to engineer the components that you need to make everything come together. No one does it better. If I could afford a Kustom, you'd be doing it!!!
.
Great work as always Karl and it looks sinister, loving the work you do
Front frame "horns" are curved in for a reason. Looks like you lost space for full steering with the straight piece you put in. I can be wrong hard to see everything in a video but is sure looks like that to me and cant imagine factory doing such a complec bend for no reason. Great videos.
In agreeable.
Correction, in agreeance
If you will remember, it was bent out, not in and only on the driver’s side! The passenger’s side was correct. Besides the bumper is so far away from the front wheels, he has no problem, except for the top of the fenders.
@@jimwhalen6769 I'm not commenting on old crash damage. The original horn design was what I commented about. I'm not gonna rewatch the video but there was a comment in the video about the horns being curved by factory and that curve not beeing needed in the new ones he made. And as we never saw the tires at full steering lock its hard to tell but as I stated think there is a reason for the horns to be curved. And thats the last I got to say about a 2 week old video.
Your vision is spot on. Damn what a combo with the body drop and the juice. Great job on the all the post production work :)
It looks great, long ,low sleek and fast.
the roof looks like the factory already chopped it for you. 👍😎
I was going to go to bed after working in the garage but, F>€k THAT!! Can't miss any vid!!
That is one sexy car, don’t chop the roof she looks perfect as she is. Great vids, can’t wait for this to be completed.
awesome feb. looks killer, coming nicely together. you are a true master!
OMG looks sooo sick Karl! Fabrication on par as usual, keep up the great work! I fully agree on not chopping it.
how you build your pieces is always a work of art congratulations 💪, the Cadillac project is also very beautiful 👏 , good job man 👍
A real artist at work. I love watching u do your thing.
The land yacht is coming together nicely, I am gaining new appreciation for the styling of this Classic beast. No roof chop needed.
the body drop and the juice. Great job on the all the post production work
What an awesome 👍😎 SLED .. BEAUTIFUL...GREAT job luv it
Wow, you makes really cool caddy , and all your metal work with plasma are imazing , I love to look yöu working. You have nice dogs.
So glad you decided not to chop the top. The body is so large it easily supports the size of the greenhouse. Nice work!
Man I need a couple of years in the same garage with this guy lol ! Love the early cardboard cam work !
Awesome! Pay no attention to the accidental fat finger on the dis because I loved this video! I fixed it and liked it! Never seen a’60 Coupe DeVil that low EVER! Keep up the great work!
Thansk john! Cheers 👊
It’s so long and low it almost looks like it was sectioned. This is one cool build. Loving how it’s turning out.
Agreed! It has wicked proportions when it’s laid out
Mad Skillz as usual!
I cant believe you had the bumper bolts/nuts. I guess whoever pulled it apart was nice enough to put the bolts back in the brackets. My luck would have me out sourcing new.
Keep up the GREAT work!
It was the pause and dedication with petting the dog that got a like from me. :) Fab work is amazing per usual.
The caddy is really looking slick! Who doesn’t love that 59-60 model.
Chop not needed. Really coming together! Think it's calling for wires!! Knock offs of course 😊
Thats one kool caddy! It doesnt need a chop looks awesome already.
Hi Karl. I had to replace a front crossmember on a Nissan Titan frame because the nuts inside the frame holding the front bumper broke loose. Yes a pain. Lol. The Caddy is looking so good 😀🥰
Looking absolutely killer! Glad you decided to do the complete mock up for us in this video. I would have been totally bummed if you hadn’t put that hood on.
Your journey and dedication to your craft is inspiring. Thank you, Karl. Loving you let us go along for the ride. A-and what a grand ride it is. Keep moving forward!
BADCAD is looking awesome! Great video.
man oh man. your skill level is out of this world
Man, your videos make me a better car guy. The Caddy looks so sweet! 👌 can hardly wait to see the next video!
Cheers Brian! 🙏👊
As a body man I do very good work. But what a pleasure watching an artist at work. Karl you are so good at explaining the little things people don't know and make it look easy which it definitely isnt. Watching the cnc machine do its magic is so soothing to watch.
So impressed by your skills Karl...I wish for the day when I can weld a 10th of the way you do and to have 1% of your talent...
That shot from up above with all the projects is money!! Love the work.
AWESOOOOOOOMEEEEEE....can`t wait for the next episode !!
That car is friggin amazing! I love it!!!! Nice work my friend
Awesome work yet again Karl, thoroughly enjoyed watching it. Keep up the good work.
Oh my GOD!! That looks so good!! I agree on not chopping, the lines are just perfect. Just looks pissed off with those frowning eye brows...
Looks absolutely sick layed out !!! Especially on them tall whites! I love how you cleaned up the front bumper mounts, I see so many hack jobs like no one cares to do it correctly, idk if it’s even fair to refer to what you did as a Z? Super clean!!! 12MM off the ground rollin gets everyone excited!!!
Man I can’t wait to roll this road out here it’s so flat lol could do 100 at 12mm 😆
I am also a proponent of chops but I agree, this one doesn’t need chopped! Lines are perfect now.
These 2 door 1960 Cadillac coup rear ends have the sexiest wings of all time for mind . I wanted one ever since I was born . Our neighbour had one and in Australia in the 60s not everyone had a car so it was wonderful for me but mum hated it warming up for 15 minute each morning . It sounded like the end of the world 😂❤️🇦🇺
I love the workmanship! Parts are cut, welded, mounted nice and clean one of a kind!
And that my friends , Is what dreams are made of .
Cool...what a sled....don't forget the brackets in back for the titanium rods...
Wow Karl that land yacht is starting to take shape. Amazing skills you have to preform miracles.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🇨🇦👍
Love all your builds, both the Lincoln and the Cady are epic
Hey Karl, I am not a lowrider guy at all... But that Car ROCKS man!
Just plain WOW!!! Awesome looks!
I watch a lot of car builders on yt. Karl, your skills are light years ahead of any of them. Your attention to detail and perfectionism are such an amazing thing to watch. Your creativity with bracketry and such is incredible. Thanks and keep it up!!
Gorgeous car!!! Just great!
Karl. That caddy is coming along very sweetly. It’s really taking shape, I agree with you that chopping the top may detract from it due to its size.
Didn’t get a good look at the cowl and firewall but maybe some awesome fabricator can create a removable panel to gain access to the distributor. Ya know just in case you get one that’s DOA or fails down the line at some point. 🤷🏻♀️
You see customs in the magazines and at the shows, but to see the work that goes into one is amazing. Thanks for bringing us along on the journey.
My pleasure dude. This is awesome sharing with a community like this!
You're right about the chop, doesn't need it . It just needed to be slammed! Damn I love this car!
Another man living his dream. Keep up the good attitude. Really enjoyable builds.
I agree Karl no chopping allowed it's sinister enough as it sit. Very cool car coming along nicely.
Wish I had your metal work skills in my day - you have the feel bud, not to many builders have that "feel" and the love for nuts and bolts.
It is looking fantastic! The brackets were ART! Great to have homies that help you too...
I didn't plan to watch the whole thing, but I did, fantastic work!
Dude, what a vision, what a stamina, what a spirit, what a precise and efficient work... thank you !
Looking fantastic Karl, loved the Johnny Cash type music added in. Keep up the great work.
What a huge step forward in one video… now we know what this rocket ship will look like for its first ride into the next galaxy, nice work Karl…..
This thing is coming out awesome.
Keep up the great work and videos
So bad ass i really like it. It's a thing of Beauty!!!!😎👍👍
I'm not a land barge fan by any stretch, but I gotta admit, that thing looks good on the ground. Nice work!
Car looks so killer slammed like that! You did such an amazing job
It's great to have the big power equipment isn't it Karl, not one but TWO lifts, (I'm jealous) 😊 That new mechanic of yours is pretty cute! Ooo, that dizzy's a little snug. There was (once upon a time) dog leg distributor drives available for clearance issues. I've used them in the past to clear blower drive snouts on Fords. I'm sure there's a selection still available from different manufacturers such as Dunn, Mallory and Swartz Racing . You could even go magneto with one. That Caddy's so low you'll have to install some titanium strips along the bottom rocker panel edge for some sparks. Staring is a bona fide fabrication tool,. It allows you to let your mind wander through various possibilities until you hit on a solution. The last time I did that I realised that I needed a small nuclear reactor. So far no one's got back to me on that...Instead of the bigger hammer, (which takes considerable expertise. I mean you didn't even hit your thumb , which is derigueur for big hammer work. It's traditional ), you know you can do that in a press...right? 😉 It is a huge vehicle, a lot of mass for a small block to move with any alacrity. Which is why I thought you should go Big Block. I wish cars like this were still made, they had real character. Caddy's coming together and looking very good! Just a thought for you: How about a couple of low tire relief blisters on the front fenders that crosses to the hood on each side. splitting the blisters in half. Could look amazing? If you do decide to chop the roof, it wouldn't have to be a full chop. Just two or three inches. It may not seem worth it for such a small amount but it could make all the difference to the perception of the stance.
Great job Karl!!!! The caddy’s has such a cool look to it. I like how it sets low and sleek looking The bumper brackets look and work fantastic.Keep of the great work on all your nice projects Karl.Your the best!!!!!Later my friend.☺️☺️☺️👍👍👍👍✌️✌️
Love the caddy so sleek and smooth and tastefully done. Not over done. And not odd looking. Looks as a kustom should look
Great work as usual. The bottom die of the press should be 8x thickness for V opening to not deform bend. FYI. But great work keep them coming.
Chop definitely not needed! The lines seem to be perfect as it is. Loving it!
You make it look so easy I like the work keep it going
You cannot beat the GM 2/3, 1/3, body to glass side view, amazing work my friend
I was a bit lost when you were making the mounts but when you started putting everything together i was like "oh dude! They look awesome!" More great work
44:41. Those brackets are badass! With that slotted side just made it so much more cool!
Karl, your videos are so much fun to watch. Your ability to see the necessary changes and fabricate with such precision is amazing. Too bad your plasma table made an oopsie, but at least it was easily rectified. It's just metal after all. Thanks again and we'll see you next time.
Haha ya it gets finicky sometimes. 😂 it’s just metal!
Man I love the time you put into the fit and finish of those brackets. Nice job
That slammed Cadillac needs a lady or a swan for the hood emblem . The Caddy does look beautiful . You did a fantastic job. Keep up the great work and God Bless you guys.
What a beast.
Always look forward to seeing your work along with the great design, fabrication and description 👍👍👍👍
