I am Telugu born (1985) and brought up in Madras, and my first song of Raja sir's that I remember listening to was "Raaja Raajathi - Agni Natchathiram" on my Dad's Vinyl Player. After listening to that song for multiple times in the same day. I was pestering my Dad to take me to that movie. Dad told me that movie was not in theatres (1989). Incidentally, Geethanjali released in 1989 and Dad took us to that movie. I was totally mesmerized with that movie and songs till the first half. The movie is tragic after the interval. I remember me and my then 2 year old sister crying when "O Priya Priya" & "O Papa Lali" were on screen. As a kid I vibed a lot to his "Raaja Raajathi", "Ninnu Kori Varanam","Jagada Jagada - czcams.com/video/DYwF_Q7DzQI/video.html", "Nandikonda Vaagullona - czcams.com/video/yt3WB_Nuq54/video.html" and then "Rakkamma" just for Rajni.
National award for Kamal in Mundram Pirai is not for the last scene .. it’s for the whole movie which is very hard compared to last scene.. balumahendra decision to keep Kamal close up for a song like kanne kalaimaane says it all. But ya Sridevi deserve it too ..
