Would be different but people buy these for more power and to go faster not to put it in a heavier 4 door car lol that's why they're in the Challengers but a charger v6 base model stripped down and gutted to nothing with a hellephant in it would be dope tub out the rear tires and wide body it , build the differential and axles and have a burnout/drag monster 👹

Hi Brenton this is going to be interesting build series. When you break the engine down I would be interested in the comparison to the Redeye on type piston, rings, crank that was used (not brands but material type hyper eutectic, plasma moly, etc.) as compared to what you decide to use. Also any break-in recommendation you have beyond the Mopar info would be great to know. Love your technical insights that can't be found anywhere else and it doesn't take an hour to get it. Thanks

If theyre having emissions issues, cant they offer a NA version of the elephant 426 with increased compression and dual spark plugs? Chevy was able to do it with their 7L v8 that was in the corvette and the camaro z28

I was wonder who would turn the Hellephant into something even powerfully and what that would be. Leave it up to you guys to come up with this wild idea. If it works lets through it into my WJ. It needs a little bit more pep and a new engine anyway.

Even BMW and Aston Martin have made the switch to 10W60 oil. IMHO 5W oil was only added by manufacturers for gas mileage reasons only.

Question, does it being an aluminum block restrict how much power you can add? The iron blocks can handle higher pressures and more heat than this one could right?
Im curious too. I'm from the LS world where the aluminum blocks are only good too XX-hp then you've gotta run a cast iron. I wonder if all the extra mass and webbing he talked about on the sides of the block help with this?
No, it’s all about how strong the sleeves are. Our 2500hp engines are all billet aluminum blocks

I didn't realize that the Hellephant block was aluminum, do you happen to know the weight difference between it and the Red Eye motor. It would be really cool if Dodge would use aluminum blocks in the 6.2L's, the Challengers and Chargers could really use the weight savings!

if you're going to upgrade all the internals why bother starting with the hellphant that's already expensive and not start with a hellcat motor ? if anything it would be nice to see the factory limits of the motor before upgrading it

They basically bought the engine for a ton of money only to build it up for a ton of money. Replacing, heads, Rods, pistons, possibly crank, its gonna be a whole other engine.
Why not just build a after market engine from the start? Buy the Aluminum block only and save a TON of money. Why buy a crate engine? This is basically 2 expensive engines for 1 to be a total waste.

I’ll still take a diesel over this. Break that engine-in on a dyno with out racing the rpm. Proper break in on dyno being easy with rpm, increase the life of Engine.
What was the point of starting with hellephant if your changing everything but the block ? Just to get the aluminum block ? With the money this guy has just buy a billet block .
