Indeed. How he can get around those mini keys that easy is amazing. Most pianists don’t have small hands. These mini keys gives my chubby fingers problems. What if you have long fingers…
I love the format you use in your videos. They're short and entertaining yet packed with usefull information that is easy to understand for everyone with a basic level of experience with music theory. If you have and instagram drop it somewhere, id love to watch what you do in a more casual setting. Anyways saludos desde Argentina querido vecino
I know you guys won‘t believe me, but bcause of this guy now I can improvise. Even if he just plays a „joke“ improvisation, I learn something from it! This guy is insane…
I was listening to this while eating, and I happened to take a drink right as you started doing Megalovania. Could've done without the near-death experience, but great video overall. 😁👍
I love your technique. I think you can play slow, laid back chord progressions as well. I wished you used my free cinematic strings and played some slow buttery, smooth jazz chords with inner motion.
I really adore your channel. I hope one day to learn how to play the piano and just have fun like you do, I don't want to be famous nor play in concerts or whatever, just pure joy and laid back unwinding to the music I make
The first Jamey Aebersold book is super useful. "How to Play Jazz and Improvise." Half of the book talks about this exactly. It also includes a few chord progressions to get familiar with, and includes backing tracks for you to improvise over. If you want to learn actual jazz tunes, backing tracks for nearly every jazz standard can be found on CZcams. It's technically better to learn by ear, but if you can't do that yet (it takes time, don't worry) you could also buy a Real book or more Aebersold books.
Practice! It looks to many people like the kind of thing where you need to know some secret techniques to be effective, but the fact is it comes down to intuition in the moment - which only comes from practice. That said, knowing your scales helps a ton - so if you feel like your improvisational intuition is already solid, getting a solid hold on all of your scales helps a ton.
The ASDF guy above me pretty much nailed it. One more thing to add though, learning songs is helpful for improvising because it can teach you runs/patterns that you can incorporate into your improv. Just make sure you don't cite other songs too much
All I can say is that I’m impressed on how you even play accurately with those mini keys
it's kinda easier especially if you have small hands, but those mini keys are very small so yes, he's very good
@@matteojack_5950 yes yes, i have played piano for a fair bit of time and am a jazz musician too so…
i just came back to 117 likes haha

i never i thought i would hear megalovania and the lick cited so effortlessly in a solo
same here
EL lick.
That was truly SMOOOOOOTH.
EL LICKO
@@OsvaldoBayerista L O L I C K I T O
People would go to 3 hour long clinics to learn what this dude just learnt us in a minute
yeah but people (me) cant play like he just did with this one minute for refrence :(((
I wish I could
"El Lick" should be in a level of its own. Just saying.
If you do several ones in different keys El lick becomes Los Licks.
@@theothertonydutch Awww yea
"Are you saying that theyre stupid? like they dont already know that?!"
-Tuco from breaking bad
Maybe I'm going insane, but I swear I heard el lick in every level....
Same! I swear in the Blues level he played a variation of it at the end
We all wish we could play as good as this

I realized today how effortlessly megolavania can fit into autumn leaves
gotta love the entire solo being one big "autumn leaves" track

Holy fuck this is the best autumn leaves solo in the world
I love how "cite memes" is on a higher level than mastering scales and arpeggios
Subscribed for El Lick, stayed subscribed for El Lick.
A god demonstrating his power
Blues makes you happy lol
ah megalovania, making me smile in all the unexpected places
thanks for your description, now i know what fate will wait for me for watching this video.
The strangest autumn leaves I’ve ever heard
the fact that he included both megalomania and the lick so clean is beyond me
Love your playing, man. Keep it coming! maybe make it longer for us to enjoy :D
That's a real jazzy jazz you got there
Absolutely addicted to these vids. Subscribed and Belled.
I need, a midi file of what just happened to my ears and eyes. That was beautiful.
So happy to see your channel blowing up - from a fellow jazz pianist. Keep it up!
Sounds really good. Also sounds like autumn leaves
As usual you make me very happy in only 1 minute, and not to mention you teach me how to improve in only 70 seconds
You just got a new subscriber
Improvisation is the way to go.
Dramatic pause😂
damn that's one spicy meatball
I love your technique. I think you can play slow, laid back chord progressions as well. I wished you used my free cinematic strings and played some slow buttery, smooth jazz chords with inner motion.
Wait
Like
I'm actually learning stuff from this
Omg
Keep making these videos!!!!
blues is always the answer
Not only your videos are good high-effort memes, they're also genuinely pleasant to listen to ^ . ^

that moment at the start was just wow
Is it just me that I actually learned something in a supposedly meme video?
If it wasn't for him, I'd never know Megalovania fits perfectly in El Lick
OMG, this video is too good! Got to activate the belly so I get everything new you publish! 😍😍😍
My gosh I’ve never felt this much bluesy in a while. Still wishing to play like you Foe😚
This channel just keeps growing and growing!
this hand has some talent!
that's what SHE said!!!
I just finished playing a new arrangement of this one a pretty jazzy chord melody
As a sax player I wish I could play this good 😂
You’ll never cease to amaze me
Or you can just remember this saying
When in doubt and you think you gonna fail,
Dont panic and just flail
--The Sax King 2022
The cool blues lick and the never ending Pat martino lick are both in here but I can't tell if thats just blues or im being pranked.
That Latin Jazz licc is more licc than the licc
Yesssss that ending
I love this. I hope one day I can improvise on the fly at this level, just for the sheer personal entertainment.
it would be fucking cool to improvise like that
You and me both my friend! But hope can only get us so far. Practice is what takes us that extra mile!
Well played sir.
Autumn leaves? Banger
At first it's like I here megalovama and then it shows that it sounds like it
After watching this video, I can confirm that it turns you into a cat. I spent 3 hours trying to type this message with my paws. Help.
I actually clicked on this video to hear El Lick… and voilà!!🤗
Level 5: Thundercat
get this man a full sized keyboard
How did I get on this video? I don't even like jazz
Ok... *clicks on the thumbs up^
alternative title: 6 ways to play the licc
Some good ole autumn leaves (autumn leaves is the name of the song)
'There is now a level zero'
*the fact that I'm learning about the topic Jazz at music period at school this semester is just-*
Smiled the whole video
SPEEEEEED IS KEEEY
Thanks for the guide! I'm still practicing, but, I'm about at Level 3.2 myself...! Hoping to make it to level 4, ideally, by the end of the year
That was fun to listen, haha
Autumn leaves♥🔥
How many people are inspired vs how many people feel like it's pointless carrying on because you'll never reach this level?
why is this so good tho
I marked out for Megalovania.
what a great video to end the month
I can hear at least 9 ways he's used the lick or based ideas on it
what he does with 25 small keys is insanely better than what i could ever do with 88 regular-sized keys
Just to make sure. Did someone steal your full piano?
AUTUMN LEAVEEE
when you can only play speed and chaos ;-;
My experience: skips to part 3 and memes, then haves trouble in parts 1 & 2
Hello Foe! Much love from Ukraine!
I love you Jazz
That’s a nice violin
El lick is genuinely so pretty
90% of Jazz is "Play random notes and hope for it to sound good" and I love it
Turned into cat. Help.
Epic dude🙌🏼
Shit, now i'm a cat
This is it guys. Jazz is solved.
Song name is Fly me To the Moon
Nope, it's Autumn Leaves
How do you learn to improvise? What do I need to know to get better?
