The Romans did have a good active airforce , they had about 400-1000 aircraft and they won a couple of battles too all this came to an end when honorius destroyed all evidence of planes in the empire

4:47 Hannibal's march to Rome overland crossing the Alps with elephants was undoubtedly one of the most epic military moves in history. In fact, in Cartagena (the place where he started his famous march and the city I and my family are from), there's an annual celebration of the start of his journey called "Carthaginians and Romans". People spend the entire day dressed as Romans or Carthaginians and making parades. I go every year to the celebration because they always offer me free hot chocolate! 😁

@@Michael_De_Santa-Unofficial Sorry to crash your illusions, but I'm the only one who receives the hot chocolate free, as I am a friend of the owner of one of the stalls that are set up in the city every time such an event is organized. Anyway, going to that event is highly recommended. 😉

Rome fell in 1453 many of its vassals survived longer to almost 1500. The Holy Roman Empire which wasn’t a legitimate continuation of Rome in any sense fell in the early 1800s the Russian empire which claimed to be 3rd Rome because it was the biggest other othordox nation but fell in 1917 well planed did existing given that russia had just started to industrialize in the major cities makes me think they didn’t have a Air Force well the ottomans claimed to be romes succesor by right of conquest that in really a legitimate at all and I don’t know if they had an Air Force. The last Roman emperor in his will gave the title to the queen of Spain but I don’t know if that dynasty of Spanish monarchs survived to have an air force
