My library is now 10 times bigger and here is what you need to know about Family Sharing and how to enable this.

I heard about it via Linus Tech Tips, but I didn't know how to enable it, so thank you for this video.
I think that for the intended use case of parent(s)/child(ren) -- this is fantastic!!!
My son is too young to have his own account, but this gives him a way to be able to still have and play it.
Without this, we have the issue where because he uses my account, if he is playing, then I can't.
So this should help with that.
I wished that we would be able to play multiple copies of the same game, at the same time, so that my kids can play a game with my wife or I.

Hey! question, so me and my friend shared library. he has elden ring. and often plays online ofc. i do wanna try elden ring but i dont want to coop. if ever, he plays elden ring online, and i play it on my steam deck while my wifi is off, is that possible to play it on the same time? me playing it offline and not connected to the internet,. while he's playing too
Some of the games will work using this workaround but it really depends on the game. As the non-owner of the game, start the game and go offline. Then the owner can access it as well. But again, it also depends on the game
i can´t make with my friend family beta share, it says we not in the same house. have they changed something?
That's odd. I haven't had this issue and I know others have made this recently with no issue. I'll look into it

I believe this is still in beta but it works great. You can easily switch between stable and beta if you want to give it a shot

where can I confirmt the request to the steam family?
You should receive a notification once you are getting the invite. Or you van also go to family account settings and you will see there the invite. But make sure to enable beta first
Do you still need to be in the same country to join a family ?
As far as I could tell, it’s not a requirement. Currently there are more members in my family and from different countries as well and it works great
@@TheTechUnravel And yet it does seem to be a requirement; we used to share a library with my friend who lives in a different country and it was working flawlessly. With the new update, however, he lost access to my library, and we couldn't form a connection again, reason being - I needed to be from the same country.
Whats the big difference between Adult and Child?
The difference are mostly for access control, limit gametime, access to invites and things like thay in general for the child account

Is family sharing secure?
You are not sharing any credentials and this is an official way provided by Steam so I wouldn't be worried
