SaffronOlive is literally the most obnoxious person in the entire magic world. Anytime he speaks and emphasizes random words for no reason is just unbearable.

@@DoABarrelRol1l see, I don't see the professor doing it as much as saffron. But I'll admit he still does it. Saffron does it like every two or three words. I tried to watch his videos because he has great ideas, but I cannot stand listening for more than 20 seconds. Brewers Kitchen on MTG Goldfish though, now that's content where I can excuse it. I guess it really just depends on the quality of content versus how obnoxious the person's voice is for me.

the editing in this episode was a step above your usually already high quality. I really loved it.
(the cut back to Andrea moving the dice, the moving mana symbols to play along with Adrea's and Carl's Talk, the Poison filling up the life total, it was just fun without being overbearing)
That's very kind of you to say! It's easier when I edit the videos because I'm in them :) I can do things like point at the mana symbols and know how to interact with it later during editing.
All the pauper content is super fun. Poison is just the kind of mechanic that is irresistable for the Johnnys of the world, I understand.
Mengu liked the vibe so much he brought it home to his workshop, thats truly the greatest compliment.

I don't know about your decklist in particular, but poison storm is legit in pauper right now
Of course I'm exaggerating a little by calling it a meme :) but it's a tier 3 deck at most. It's still super fun and I'd recommend it to anyone
It can still be very competitive though and Kalikaiz made top 8 at the pauper creator showdown event thing. @CardmarketMagic
@devan9197 that's the thing :P Kali seems to be the only person capable of consistently winning with the deck. But Kali could probably win a pauper tournament with a pile of blank paper he's so good 😅

Never a bad time for more pauper and Andrea. Also I love Carl's deck, it reminds me of all the absolute jank I've built because I had a "wait... what if?!" idea at some point.
Back on phyrexia I made an artisan standard deck based on proliferate and poison counters, because I love the mechanic.
But this deck with the prisms and the depletion lands is a lot more fun. I love it
I was surprised Carl even got a game against Izzet Snakes tbh. Let alone a game AFTER sideboard! I thought for sure his only chance to win would be preboard. Well done! Another fun video :)

Poison storm is real deck, not a meme. Recent multiple challenge top 8s by Kalikaz (premier pauper combo player)… check out his CZcams channel for leagues and challenges
I love both Kali and poison storm, but it's hard to argue that this is a serious deck :P
Gonna have to agree here. Poison storm may seem like a meme at first but pauper decks are very slow and poison storm attacks on an axis that most decks can’t interact with. Against those decks poison storm has an auto-win

Idk, I get what you are trying to say but Kali is literally the only person putting up consistent results, nobody else does well with the deck
@@Tom-bb3fm fair enough, question is whether other good combo-control players play it or is kalikaz the only one putting time and effort into mastering the deck? I don’t know. Yet… meme seems a bit to harsh judgement. Seems better suited for glass canon decks like 1-land-spy or tour de fish
Cool to see this pop up! I just built a Zevlor Poison deck for Commander that includes a bunch of these spells that have Proliferate stapled on. Pretty scary dishing out 9+ poison counters on a turn!
Carl's typical manic energy is really what makes this matchup so great. He's just as surprised as we are every step of the way.

Do I enjoy the 100 card singleton formats? For sure! But I also love 60 card 4-of's, and we don't get to see nearly as much of that as we used to. Thanks for keeping it alive!

The editing is really high quality, the musics, the details in the life and poinson counters, the mana... everything is just perfect and in the details but it makes the game easy to follow and fun to watch :) Every paper magic video should be like that!

Watching Carl put all the dice in perfect order should be added to those "Oddly satisfying" compilations! And it's always cool to see weird and unusual decks be played that are surprisingly effective, maybe you could do some user-submitted decks again? I don't really have anything but there are a lot of very creative people out there!
i've been playing the EXACT same kind of deck on Arena in alchemy for a couple months. It's honestly such a fun deck to play, even though you don't win super often

The interaction between the charge counter lands, prism, and proliferation is excellent and might be worth exploring further
3:10 i have watched alot of gameplay footage and have never noticed. I'll be sure to rewatch games or future matches for this easter egg.
I'd lean on the green mana and add some fog effects, sure you don't kill them as fast, but depending on matchup can (like this one for example) it'd be pretty good I think

What I’ve learned trying to make a poison deck is that easy to make a bad poison deck.
There are many different ways to give someone poison counters that you’re temped to mix them, while it’s better to go heavy in to way specific way to give your opponent poison counters.
The worst part of the deck is the poison cards, if there's is printed any better wincon the deck would play none.
Great video! It might be a good idea to add that this is a pauper video in the title or thumbnail so people know what they’re in for when they click. Awesome video again!

One thing to point out. In game one Carl should of had one more turn. Each time he cast Weather the Storm, they only counted the Storm count. You gain 3 life from the spell itself too. So Carl should of gained a total of 9 more life the first game.

Content Idea:
Go back to doing user submitted decks. Card Market does this from time to time, but mix it up.
Play BOTH decks user submitted rather than 1 vs the meta. That way a community member always wins a deck.
The editors, as always, deserve as much praise as the great people in front of the camera

Proliferate with Pentad Prism and the depletion lands is actually really scary! Being able to cast "free" spells or keeping 2-mana lands on the board seems quite strong.

Karl, that deck has legs. I would love to see it played again. You should stick with it.
Consider trying Waxmane Baku in the deck, the only other common that could add mana while you're going off. I can't think of a lot of spirit or arcane cards that would work well with it - maybe Ideas Unbound or Peer Through Depths - but you'd only need one to get it going.
Also, repeatedly proliferating The Modern Age could be a big game!
I don't think The Modern Age would add too much, since most of the proliferate cards replace themselves anyway (as any good storm deck should).
I was thinking they'd replace themselves with lands sometimes, but I'm now realizing they usually give you some card selection. Your right; probably not worth a slot

Maybe thrumming bird in the sideboard for the proliferate deck, then when the opponent sides out all their removal, you side in thrumming bird to fight for the initiative/monarch and still prolifirate.

i very mach like pauper poisen storm, one of my first decks in pauper but you need to play snap in the deck, antaping your lands that taps for two mana is so good and lets you storm of faster
