My uncle bought a Defender 90 like two years ago, to "do some off road". The car is always parked in his garage, works perfectly, but he only drives it around the block (to make sure the battery is OK). LOL.
Not used to a stick. Never freewheel down a steep hill using the brakes only. Use engine braking and then footbrake. Learn to drive safely before you wreck it.
You should learn to drive a Land Rover Before you take into the wild ..... low gears and very few rev`s. The Defender is still he Best 4x4 in the world ... small and practical ... that Jeep would not last a week on the Yorkshire moors .... it`s too light and it would float off in our floodwaters.
