I hung out with Rob Lowe in Paris 1990. He came to see the Rolling Stones and I was one of their backing vocalists. He was charming, respectful and a really nice guy! Good to see him on the Breakfast Club. 🎉

Ehh. There’s racial element too tho. Historically, minorities were denied access to so many professions that there is less likelihood that they have the connections that their white colleagues have, and if everyone is hiring off nepotism, most minorities won’t have much a chance to break into new spaces. I think most of us are fine with reasonable nepotism when the benefactors have legit talent, and are ok admitting their privileges.

Well done. I initially had no love for Rob Lowe after I learned about the tape he made in the 80s. I was a kid then and although I never saw it, I was disgusted hearing about it. I also thought he didn’t get enough backlash about it.
Then as an adult, I didn’t want to like anything he did, but I couldn’t escape him in my favorite show Parks and Rec. eventually, I “literally” couldn’t deny that his character was hilarious, but I still side-eyed the man. After this interview, I have a better understanding of things and respect for the man.

This was a great interview. Someone who has been through the riinger with fame and excess and came out clean and still working consistently. Self awareness is key in life. 80's is my favorite decade and he is one of the standouts from that time. All of my favorite actors and musicians came from that era.

I am actually kind of shocked that people are shocked to see someone like Rob on the show. Breakfast Club has all sorts of guests of all races and backgrounds of the industry on. Yes, it is mostly black or hip-hop culture, but they definitely mix it up. Great interview and learned A LOT!
