It looks a bit like Bharatanatyam, even though it's obviously quite different. Great to know that this Assamese dance has status as a classical Indian dance!
@@badass4960Sankardeva didn't invented the form of this dance. The Brahmins and the Devdasi dances were the earliest form of this dance. Sankardev adopted the form.
Though Sattriya is Assamese classical dance, i can see some influence from Odissi, the classical dance of Odias as well. It makes sense, since Sri Sankardeva had visited Puri in Odisha and had been so influenced by Vaishnavism here that he gave it newer heights in Assam. Before him and Sri chaitanya, Bengal and Assam was mostly Shakta and Buddhist, while Odisha had mostly been Jain and Vaishnava.
Mridusmita, why didnt u ever come to Bucharest? I saw there Alarmel Valli, Geeta Chandran, Pragati Soud... but u never came, i wish i could meet u! I love ur dance! Thank u for uploading.
I have watched many dances, great dancers, not only videos, but live too. I have never seen a dancer like this one, she is extremely expressive and full of passion, its not just the dance itself, its the way she tells the story. I love her a lot, thank u for posting such a wonderful video, words r not enough to show my appreciation.

इस तरह के मनमोहक नृत्य से असम के बाहर शेष भारत में परिचय ही नही है। इसका परिचय और प्रदर्शन पूरे देश में किया जाना चाहिए
Mridu is the epitome of beauty and grace. It is a delight to watch her.
