This is my first slow stich project and it was so fun! Not exactly easy for me but I got it done and I'm very pleaed with how it came out. Thank you so much for the detailed explanations on this. Hi Miss Rita. I sure enjoy your videos re stitching & junk journals. I make quilt tops, but don't call myself a quilter. I've been a sewist since about age 12-ish. Many moons ago. I am currently making over 60 needlebooks for my quilt guild retreat in July. I love making them. I took the plunge into junk journals a couple of years ago & love researching & collecting various antique/vintage goodies. Hi Rita. This turned out gorgeous. You are one talented lady. You asked me in your last slow stitch video if I do it. I responded and then remembered you said you can’t see the responses. I used to watch this very popular lady whose name escapes me. She was making slow stitching thing that wraps around a spool 🧵. I bought got a book called A~Z of Embroidery Stitches. It’s for beginners to advanced. Bought threads and needles, materials. Then discovered junk journals and never tried it. I have used the threads in the journals. ( embroidery threads) You have inspired me to give it a go. I hope it doesn’t hurt my hands and wrists. Sometimes fussy cutting does. Have a lovely relaxing evening. 🌼🌼🌼
Yes, I know what you are talking about; it is like a snippet roll or scroll…I hope it doesn't hurt your hands, but since you can stitch a little at a time, it may not. Check out the stitcher I left in the description below. She has a video on a scroll, which is wonderful, and I don't think I could do that. Happy Stitching! 🪡💕🧵

Hello Rita, I just love your Sunday Slow Stitching! I hope you plan to keep doing another project. I am interested in doing a scrapbook cover in a turtle or some other Hawaiian like slow stitch project. I just returned from a vacation with my two sisters. We had so much fun and I took alot of pictures to scrapbook but I want to do the cover first so I am doing some drawing to maybe come up with my own pattern. Thank you so much for your inspiration! I love your little baskets!

It was very helpful that you used contrasting thread to demonstrate the initial base stitches, thank you. Can I suggest you keep half an emery board (or small, non-metallic, nail file) in your needlebook and with it you can remove burrs, or even sharpen you needle, in the middle of your work with that needle. I just love the boxes.

I use a craft felt from Hobby Lobby or Walmart, and you could also use quilt batting or felted wool. Thanks for watching! 🤗
