    To clarify, I do not recommend to buy these if your are a budget filmmaker, but they are worth the rental for bigger productions. 🤘🏻

      For real. About $6k.. I just subbed after watching your Sigma FP vids. I was thinking of saving for a Sony FX3 to send my A7iii to B-camera (current B is Canon 90D), but the price tag is just too much for my wallet.. Then I found out about the Sigma FP.. Half the FX3's price.. I mount my rig on my gimbal and use follow focus so I'm a manual focus puller, so it looks so dope!
      I have a lot of vintage lenses passed down plus some Tokina so was happy finding out about the newer cine models from ya! Awesome vid!

      @@chanenchong I definitely think the FPis worth at least a rental if you’re looking at the fx3. You won’t get high frame rates in 4k or blazing autofocus. But if you want to shoot RAWvideo the FP is one of the better options!
      When I get the 16-28 tokina it will be a dope option because there is a less pricier photo option available.

    Hi, I’ve enjoyed your videos on the Tokina, Sigma cine’s and Nisi’s. I’m curious to hear your thoughts on using the Tokina vista’s versus the sigma cine’s. Specifically image and size and any other thoughts you have. Much appreciated!

      @Ansonandco  Před 3 měsíci

      I appreciate it! The abridged version for me is:
      SIGMA: gives you a clean and sharp image, and is way more compact than the tokinas. Great for profession corporate work and anything you need a clean image
      TOKINA: they offer a clean but textured image, but they are BIG. I sold mine cause of the size. But if you want a clean yet textured look they are great. Great for corporate projects and narrative projects.
      NISI: kinda similar optically to the tokinas and WAY smaller

      @@Ansonandco Makes sense. I've used the Vistas, have owned some sigma art stills glass, and just shot with the Nissi's. Trying to imagine how owning changes the equations versus when I've rented is not easy haha.

    Which mount did you get? I suppose you needed an adapter? Great work!

      I have it in PL. currently I am using a cheap PL to L mount adapter but I may grab the official sigma one soon

    This lens looks beautiful and the footage is sooooooo cinematic. I'd love to have it but as a 'budget film maker' I can't afford it 😉

      You got jokes!!! I mean I’m just saying I think if you sold some cameras and lenses you could. What are you at like 6 cameras and 15-20 lenses?

    FYI focus breathing has nothing to do with vintage vs modern, but due to the design. Leica R lenses were made for stills photography, where focus breathing is a non-issue in 99% of situations.

    • @Ansonandco
      @Ansonandco  Před 2 lety +1

      I can see my statement may have caused that confusion of vintage = breathing. My statement was more aimed at the idea of quite a bit of older adapted lenses (which was generally designed for stills) will show more breathing. But also to my point the 50mm was designed for stills and it had excellent focus breathing control… so it’s also not a matter of JUST stills versus cine. I’ve seen plenty of cine class have terrible breathing issues

    • @ruhnet
      @ruhnet Před 2 lety

      @@Ansonandco Yes that is true, both with cine and video lenses: breathing varies depending on how much attention it has been given in the design phase. In general, the higher end lenses have had care taken to avoid or minimize it.
