ABOUT CHICAGO FIRE
From renowned Emmy Award-winning executive producer Dick Wolf ("Law & Order" brand) and co-creator Derek Haas, the writer behind "3:10 to Yuma," comes Season 8 of "Chicago Fire." The family inside Firehouse 51 knows no other way than to lay it all on the line for each other. Capt. Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer) leads the Truck Company and brash Lt. Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) runs the Rescue Squad. The firehouse also includes Battalion Chief Wallace Boden (Eamonn Walker), a fireman's fireman. Paramedic Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer) returns alongside seasoned veteran Christopher Herrmann (David Eigenberg) and Randy "Mouch" McHolland (Christian Stolte), as well as resourceful firefighter Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo). Completing the team are dependable squad member Joe Cruz (Joe Minoso), paramedic Emily Foster (Annie Ilonzeh) and the newest addition, candidate Blake Gallo (Alberto Rosende).

Casey sure as hell wasn’t kidding when he said “this job isn’t for wannabes. Either you’re not cut out for this job or you’ve got the firefighter’s instinct.”
My father and grandfather, both were firefighters, I'm glad I discovered this show after their retirement, this gives me so much anxiety.
come on,, no one talking about how severide rushed in without a mask, risking his own life to save his recruits??? I love this guy 🥺😌😂

What series or episode
Later on when the kid's dad goes and reems out Severide, you just know he told his dad a totally different story than what actually happened. Your kid does this and you still think they should be a firefighter?

Good thing that recruit said something before they too went in. IF this happened durning an actual mission, OMFG you'd be fired (no pun intended ) on the spot. This pup definitely is NOT right for the job. People MUST learn that NOT everyone is made for this job.
The one thing I’ve learned from working on a construction site it’s always ok to ask for help, that’s the one thing everybody in including fire recruits should know
@@jldog134 WELL SAID! Indeed but sometimes that's not always the case, especially if they are being tested.
@@juanakravitz3024 I couldn't agree more
Which is exactly why I've always been ill at ease with the concept of volunteer firefighter.
It's a job that needs very honed skills, and being full of good will and wishing to help others is not nearly enough.
Without skills you can make a deadly mistake with a lot of good intention.
Mercer was the kid of one of the other fire chiefs, so that's the issue

I’m pretty sure Casey was the one who saw that that guy would really be in trouble all though Severide was pretty pissed though
i think Severide knew it too, he just decided to give the kid one more chance
I watch it all the time
Severide knew and wanted him out earlier but because of who the recruits dad is and his relationship with Boden he wanted to give the recruit a chance to show himself and prove Kelly wrong before he caused friction between chiefs and it could of come back badly on severide and boden if the recruits dad kicked off
Wow I love these hope to become a firefighter when I leave high school. Gone to start training.
Same but you can’t really compare Chicago fire to real life firefighting a lot of the things in the show are not accurate and not to mention It’s a drama but I hope you succeed
@@benchaney9047 Actually for the most part, it’s pretty accurate, mainly the rescues. Not necessarily the relationships and management
@@Cal90208 yeah don’t get me wrong the rescues are pretty accurate apart from taking their own SCBA’s off but all their gear and uniforms are pretty accurate
That’s what I want to do to
If you don’t live in the city, then go join your nearest Volunteer Department, you could start out there and learn a whole lot…
Serviride, stella and Casey are my favorite firefighters
New recruit should be terminated from the academy for putting everyone in danger
He was.
he would be if Casey was in charge
Just because a relative of yours is on the job, it doesn’t mean it’s in your blood, such is the case with this kid.
So you mean to tell me the other guys didn't check their air before going in? Pretty sure that's an important thing to do before running into a smoke filled room
Smell is the weakest of the five senses. Maybe they just didn't notice.
That boy will never be a firefighter period
More likely doomed from the beginning
He sure wouldn't be
He never will be ever!
This storyline was so good!
Technically this can’t happen because for those trailers the intake is a long pipe that goes high into the air just for that reason.
intake? or did you mean exhorts?
Yeah when i saw that i was like that is going to be the mistake that gets him booted from the acdemy.

How can anyone mistake fuel tank to an oxygen tank . There's labels to show CO and more
How the hell do you unintentionally fill oxygen tanks with diesel exhaust
By filling them next to a running diesel truck from what I got from that episode
@@jujubug2000 yup and ignoring the alarm warning you there’s carbon monoxide.
What season and episode is this?
I was cringing & rolling my eyes when Mercer was just standing there (not in this clip) when Severide told him to vent the smokey building
"MERCER, VENT THE SMOKE ROOM!"
No I the cliff hanger
Oh damn! How could you make one big mistake just by filling up those air tanks with Carbon Monoxide? 🤦
ive no idea its not like theres a lever to do that the only thing i can guess is he parked the truck too close to the tank refiller and it sucked in the exhaust fumes? issue is they put the back of the truck next to it to hint thats what he did ... but the exaust isnt on the back its on the side infact i think the oposite side to where the filler station was
Carbon dioxide not monoxide
Severide probably thought the exact same thing.
Stellaride is in every video comments hehe😌😌😌❤

How do you make that mistake
They explain what happe. Later in the episode

He didn't notice or pay attention to the warning sign on the machine that told him not to use it near exhaust fumed and he overrode the CO alarm when it when it went off not realizing what it meant.

Did he live
This episode shown Kelly maturity. Spoiler*** the kid didn't listen at all wherever with the first test with dropping the dummy or not wearing proper gear and finally this one. Kelly knew that but the conflicted with Boden friend change that. Kelly finally gets rid of the kid. The dad yelled at him. What amazing me Lieutenant Kelly Severide just took it. He didnt buck at authority. He wouldn't let Chief handle it either. He explained his side and got a resolve. *** why does Kelly have side job is he saving up for something small and shiny.🤔

Gotta love these shows 😂 how the hell did he manage to fill the bottles with diesel exhaust?? Noones gonna suck on that and not notice immediately. On top of that who slams a door open and runs right in?!?!
That's my question, every fill system I ever used, had a cascading high pressure system, where is the diesel exhaust coming from?

@@Beandiptheredneck must be, and I agree any boot with half a brain would realize that diesel fumes coming from your regulator is bad.
What episode is this?? And what season

how the hell is that even possible?
The air tanks were filled with carbon monoxide because the recruit refilled the tanks using the compressor while there was a fire truck parked next to the machine. Exhaust fumes got sucked into the compressor's air intake. What's worse is that there were warning signs about diesel exhaust fumes and a CO alarm on the compressor, but the recruit didn't know what it was, so he turned it off.
FAZ À DUPLADO EM PORTUGUÊS 🔥🔥🔥🔥❤❤❤❤🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
At first I think it was a game character
Are you telling me he filled the air tanks from the exhaust of a diesel generator?
So what happened was the exhaust of another vehicle was in front of the intake of the Tue machine that fills the canisters with air, so rather than breathable air, it was pretty much straight carbon dioxide
@TheOrigionalPineapple The CO alarms wne toffee, but he ignored it, cuz he had no clue what it meant.

Original Seagrave Truck81 Would’ve Being Better To Stay On The Whole Series Instead Of Getting 1990 Gladiator Spartan On Episode 13 Season 8.
I Love Original Seagrave Truck81 Heaps Better & Needs To Appear In More Episodes + A Few Episodes Need To Be Re-edited Where Original Truck81 Is There For All Season 8 9 10 11
Just why does the Firefigthers keep cannisters with carbon monoxide that're identical to cannisters with air?!?!?
The canisters weren't supposed to be filled with carbon minoxide. He filled them with oxygen while there was a fire engine standing next to the compressor. Diesel exhaust from the engine got sucked into the compressor as a result. According to Severide, there was an alarm on the machine that went off, indicating that the air was contaminated, but Mercer didn't realize what it meant, so he ignored both that and the sign on the compressor that said not to use it near exhaust fumes.
i thought carbon monoxide had no smell?
It doesn't, but diesel exhaust (which contains carbon monoxide) does have a distinct smell
Hehe

oopsies
HUGE OOPSIES!!!
Yes the recruit screwed up and he deserves most of the blame but Severide was responsible for training the cadets and should have caught it. Not only should he have made sure that the machine was set up properly so it wasn't accidentally drawing in the fumes but he should have had another firefighter there helping him keep an eye on the trainees. I am not sure (not a firefighter) but shouldn't it be department policy to have more than one instructor during potentially hazardous training?
i have to imagine theres buddy check protocols in place for stuff like this
@@Sarge92 Almost certainly but instructors don't rely on them completely. Ultimately it was Severide's responsibility to properly supervise their training and he failed to do that. Having an extra set of eyes would have helped him head off issues before they became problems (such as the recruit accidentally filling his fellow recruits oxygen tanks with carbon monoxide). The scene clearly shows him dividing his attention between the different male and female pairs AND the injured recruit which was an invitation for something to happen.
If you saw the actual episode the machine was set up properly there was even an alarm that went off warning the kid carbon monoxide was in the tank… the kid ignored the alarm. Can’t blame the instructors here…. in a real life scenario there isn’t going to be someone micromanaging you.
@@bautistalover An firefighter instructor's job isn't just to instruct and catch/correct mistakes befoe they become an issue in the field but to identify recruits who are not qualified to be firefighters and remove them from the training cycle. The fact that the kid had already seriously injured himself should have alerted Severide to keep a closer eye on the kid and if he was too busy with the other recruits ask another firefighter for help. After all firefighting is a team effort.
@@jormugand5578 again your blaming the instructor for the kid ignoring the warning sign that was right there in his face, ignoring the alarm that went off and ignoring the training they had already received that said not to fill the tanks when there is a running vehicle near by. The kid being so eager he forgot to put on his gloves wasn’t an indicator that he would ignore protocol. Again it sounds like you didn’t watch the episode at all.
Does anyone else think Severide sound like Jimmy Kimmel

Chief Boden needs to be held to account for this and removed from command! Unacceptable for this to happen under his watch.
Boden has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with this. He's a Battalion Chief, he has command over a number of firehouses. He has no authority over the fire academy's procedures whatsoever.
