I agree wholeheartedly with these hacks. I like the two wheeled tour bus part especially. We go slow enough on our bikes (compared to whipping by in our cars and trains and such) that we see things we might have missed otherwise. That old house with a plaque out front.. didn't see the plaque every day driving by in a car, did we? Come to find out someone historically famous lived there. I was planning a route one time and came to find out Corrie Ten Boom is interred in the county I live (Orange County, California). History all around us and we missed it...until we rode by on two wheels. Another thing we do on bikes that we miss in cars is find interesting stuff lying there dropped in the road. I found a nice Gerber knife one time, a cell phone I was able to run down and get back to it's owner, a poor doggie I was able to retrieve the collar from and give some closure to his humans. Cyclin' (love your accent, Manon) is the best. It's a definite stress reliever alone, then all the cool stuff. Anyway, Cheers.. good video 🙂

Cycling is a diabetes medication accelerator. Without cycling, I use much more insulin and my blood sugar control is far worse. Cycling is a life hack, because it extends my life and keeps me healthy both physically and diabetes-wise. That was my hubby, Doug. For me, cycling is my anti-anxiety, anti-depressant medication! Re Tour De France comment. I was riding with my cycling club friends in South Carolina last summer. I was wearing a cycling jersey that my wife bought for me that had the State of Alaska name on flag on it. Three blokes in a truck pulled up next to us and asked if I'd ridden my bike down from Alaska. I said, "of course" and the guy turned to his friend and said "you owe me $10". Excuse for wearing bright young clothes even when old.
Warm gloves for use even when not on the bike.
Zen and the art of bicycle maintenance.
Plenty of time to chant a mantra -- I do when I am on my bike and it helps for being noticed.
Keep bones healthy and strong by bashing them on tarmac from time to time.
    Improve situational awareness.
Anger management or perhaps just anger release -- I have ditched my bells and buzzers and just shout.
Self observation (leading to less desire to eat) both due to the Lycra and the self-observational low-down cycling pose, looking at ones legs.
Low-down goes faster, and encourages belly loss because you can't do it with a belly.
Excuse for purchasing new clothes, especially trousers, when tainted with chain gunk.
Excuse for primate crotch display -- Lycra again.
Excuse for carrying a defensive pump.
Helmet headlight useful off the bike too.
Always a pocket full of rechargeable 18650 batteries in my case at least.
Gain a familiarity with cheap online Chinese suppliers (Aliexpress).
Learnt how to work with carbon fibre.
A certain notoriety, familiarity, and even trust with police.
Neck-warmer doubles as corona mask, gloves, and visor likewise reduce risk of infection.
    Make friends.
Get to know the short cuts.
Traffic jams almost cease to exist.
Impress with your bike even if you look like an old fart.
Always have a familiar to Instagram -- your bike -- especially if you are an old fart and don't want to take selfies.
Bottle cage is wine bottle size -- thanks to the French?
Impress people with the number of squats you can do?
