Awesome. I just did a 6l80e. Took me a few days to R and R it by myself. About half of that was on the exhaust and transfer case though. Lol.
Those 6L80s are a different story they are heavy and awkward good job doing it yourself!! Haha yeah those exhaust bolts can be the devil 😮💨😮💨🤣🤣 thanks for watching and commenting it means a lot ! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Hell yea you got any Install videos
Very impressive! Please practice better safety and wear eye protection when working like you do. Your vision is too important a gift not to protect. Best of health and prosperity to you.
Hopefully I’m able to pull my s10 transmission like that….I highly doubt I’ll be that fast. Great video
After looking around most auto shops aren’t willing to rebuild the transmission. Unless they take it out themselves. So I’m other words I may not be able to take it out and have someone fix it.
@@JR-wb8ht yeah most shops and rebuilders like to take the easier routes and/or avoid as many risks as possible they like to see what’s wrong with it before pulling it & attacking the rebuild so they know what’s really hurting on it to laser in on that part of the faulty transmission and try to salvage as many used parts as possible when you take them a unit it’s kinda hard more like a blind rebuild if that makes sense
How do you know when it's a good transmission
Why don’t you disconnect the torque converter before you drop the transmission? Is it better doing it the way you do it or does it matter?
Do u have a similar video but manual transmission so i can see how you attack the shifter section from inside the cab?
Those manuals are gold!! I’ve been looking for a manual transmission to remove but they are pretty rare here in California but I will most definitely post one as soon as I come across one! Thanks for watching it means a lot 🙏🏽❤️👨🏻🔧
Very good video. At the end you open the transmission oil pan. What for? To check what? Thanks
Thank you for watching & I appreciate your feedback!! 🦾🦾 I open the oil pan to drain it completely so it doesn’t make a mess when I’m transporting them and to make sure it’s not full of metal debris caused by worn out clutch packs and/or abusive driving
Looking for metal & band material. Trans life is ALWAYS in the bottom of the pan !
How do you get the top bolt out to you have to drop the transfer case or is it optional
This one doesn’t have a transfer case but I would really recommend dropping it to get the top bell housing bolts and u just need a rly long extension with a swivel and a 15mm socket on the end
Why didn't you check the pan before taking out the transmission? Or did you before you shot the video?
I can usually tell by smelling the dip stick 9/10 times I’m right (I’ve been doing this for 14 years) but mainly to drain the transmission and I don’t like to drain where I’m working these transmissions don’t have a oil drain bolt (unless someone made one: common to see nowadays) but for the most part you have to remove the whole oil pan and it takes longer trying to be tedious and clean unless you don’t mind used transmission oil soaking to the back of your shirt and working like that but that’s one of my pet peeves lol so it’s easier to just drain it once it’s off and I’m on my feet, clean and store my tools as it’s draining then bolt it back up and go home but sometimes if it’s iffy on the smell and I don’t trust it I do remove it beforehand to make sure 100% I’ve pulled many transmissions off just to find out it’s no good or really burnt to the point of no return at the end but I love doing this so I don’t really mind lol
man what city and state you in!! I need ya in Columbia South Carolina
SC!! that’s badass!! I’m from Central California 👋🏼👨🏻🔧
Thanks for watching bro! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

Haha that’s how it all started brotha a old incomplete Craftsman/Stanley/Pittsburg set in a Home Depot bucket I bought at the flea market for $25 14 years ago! Had to step it up lol
So are you Using jackstands are was it already lifted up?
@@Ajunkman So do you secure them in anyway?. Because I know I’ve been in some wrecking yards and there sitting on rims sideways and it’s not very stable.
@@maaseace Yeah if I see that they’re too sketchy I’ll just walk away it’s not worth risking it but yeah you’re right sometimes they’re barley sitting on the lip of the rim very very scary.
I have a video upload on here of me tackling a “sketchy one” so you get an idea of what I do to try to secure it
At the end of the day it’s still a risky business!
Why not pull the pan first, insted of the end to check for debris or catastrophic failure?
@@chadc4294 when you’ve been doing this for 13 years you can tell by the smell and I like to add suspense for the videos. Usually if a transmission is burnt you can tell at the dip stick.
You've done that before!

Gawh DAMN!! Wanna come help pull my 4L60e?😂😂this my first time and damn it ain't easy
Under 5 minutes possible
Can you give me some help, I have a 2003 2.2 L Chevy S-10 automatic transmission and I want to get one out of a junkyard what other vehicles will both of us directly to that transmission if you could help me I would appreciate it
Thanks for stopping by
For yours unfortunately it’s only S10 or Sonoma that will fit
You should be good 2000-2003
Must be nice livin in “no salt” zone. That truck looked brand new under there! Thing come apart real easy when you have no rust to deal with! I’m jealous !

I lived in NY for 40+ years and dealt with working on salt vehicles, light duty and heavy duty. Moved to AZ a few years ago, do not miss the salt at all.
