  • Love riding your bike in the great outdoors? On 25th of May, 6 new cycling routes open at Coed y Brenin, bringing over 100km of new cycle adventure with routes suitable for cyclists of all ages and ability levels.
Coed y Brenin is known for its rugged MTB trails but these new routes are designed to offer easier access to some of the most spectacular areas of the forest by making use of existing forests roads, tracks and trails to create a completely new experience that aims to appeal to riders of all ability levels looking to enjoy the many benefits that excercise and adventure in the great outdoors can bring.
Years in development, these trails were carefully crafted by the trail team at NRW to allow riders to immerse themself in some truly spectacular country, accessing some of the most remote corners of the forest for breathtaking views of the Rhinog mountains and Cader Idris (weather permitting) and without the need for a dedicated MTB. A drop bar gravel bike or even a hybrid or leisure ebike with suitable tyres is fine. Be warned though, some of the longer routes do feature some steeper, more uneven and challenging sections that may require a little hike-a-bike.
Comprehensive route guides and maps will be available from Monday 20th May so you can plan your ride but please don't visit before then as NRWs trail team are still working on signposting the route.
If you join us for the launch event on 25th you'll also be in with the chance of winning a brand new Trek Checkpoint ALR 4.
