3 versions now? Great song
I wish Conor would do an album in the spirit of Fevers and Mirrors (my fav) or Lifted (my second). Those two albums were special, and by far his two best.
Don't get me wrong, I love a lot of his other stuff as well, I just miss the style and writing of his earlier work.
Perhaps I'm bias, because Fevers and Mirrors is the album that introduced me to Bright Eyes, and at the time I was really depressed, longing for a girl to love, and missing ones that came before, but even now over 20 years later, and no longer depressed, I still love those albums.
I feel like Ruminations was that album? To me, it had the same emotional rawness that Mirrors had, just with the songwriting and voice and human experience of a few extra decades.
Everyone has a BE album they feel like this about. It is bias, and that's okay. Depending on which you stumbled upon first, you love it the most. Mine is I'm Wide Awake, essentially because of very similar reasons to why your fav is your fav. 20 years later, it still makes me cry! (They all make me cry tbh lol). Sending love!
@@delia_watercolors Thanks, There is no song writer like Conor. IMO, there has never been a greater than he.
@@katrinwalter5823 I don't think so. Listen to Fevers and Mirrors, then listen to Ruminations, and then see if you feel the same.
Conor has well over 100 songs that I adore, and even after nearly 25 years, He is still my all time favorite singer/songwriter, I just feel that a lot of his later work has fallen off a bit. Though, I do think his album with Phoebe Bridgers is amazing, and basically all his other stuff. 'Upside down mountain' is probably my 3rd favorite album of his, and 'Time Forgot' is one of my all time favorite songs, but I still long for some of that early Bright Eyes rawness.
P.S. The Peoples Key is my least favorite album that Conor has made under the Bright Eyes name, and even that is mostly good, so please, understand that my comments are based on my love for Conor's work, and just a desire for a return to his earlier emotional rawness.
@@isaiahii6982 I understand what you're looking for. Haha. Under the umbrella of I love most of his music, I have very few "definitely skips" in the entire catalog. My husband and I have been following him around since 2004, I get it, I'm no music snob. I love fevers and mirrors and lifted in a different way. A lot of the problem is over production in my opinion. I think we have Dead Oceans to thank for that.
😊🎉
The beat is to beaty

Reminds me of those repetitive Crystal Castles beats... Would not recommend this song
