I dont read much about Henry as I'm loyal to my girl Anne! But I would be interested in reading a book on Mary Tudor's life so sad that her death only had a little section in the book.
Looking forward to your reading vlog on Mary I, Queen of Sorrows 💜 So few books from Mary's point of view so it should be good. As you say, hopefully Weir does Mary justice as she didn't appear particularly flattering in the Six Tudor Queens series.
I love a reading vlog, and so very good to see you back Lil 🥰 I always check to see if a new video has been uploaded and am always so excited when there is! xx
I can see this one being a struggle for me, too. I recently finished the third book in the Six Tudor Queens series and I felt like I needed a little break because Henry was really frustrating me. It'll be interesting to see how this book goes once I eventually make my way to it. Happy you're back! And always happy to see Puppy! He's a cutie.
Sometimes you need to push through something to get it finished!! I did like your description of Henry the viii!! I was cross stitching whilst watching this, I looked up and snap, we have the exact same reading light...I was using mine at that moment, lol!! Can't wait for your next video, have a lovely weekend!!xxx
So glad to see you and really excited to hear you speak about this. I ordered this on pre order but am only reading Elizabeth of York The Last White Rose at the moment. Thank you ❤
Weirdly I had the same thoughts as you about this book - and it draggeddddd for me! It was never ending, but very short / choppy chapters. Elizabeth of York however, was a breeze..! Will you be reading the Mary Queen Of Sorrows one? I’m currently reading and it’s very good! ❤
Oh my gosh, what a coincidence! I was just wondering what you have been up to lately, and here you are with a new video! Sorry you didn't enjoy the book as much as you'd hoped. But in one sense maybe Alison Weir was remaining historically true to the "real" jerk Henry. I personally would rather read about Margaret. Can't wait to see what else you'll be reading this summer! I'm immersed in The War of the Roses. 😍
I reviewed this on my channel when it came out. I read it on Audible and it is about 24 hours long. It was very good. I’ve also been reviewing many books about the Gilded Age in America. I love the HBO series.
Totally agree with you about the first half-ish of the book, it felt very repetitive with the various miscarriages Katherine suffered and it began to get tedious about Henry wanting an annulment. I did enjoy it after Anne Boleyn, but I still enjoyed Elizabeth of York more.
It’s great to see you back. I’m glad you pushed through the book and got to finish it.
Welcome back (again) Lil
So good to see you 🥰
What a treat, just the video I wanted to see. Thanks so much! 🙏😊

Honest review of the book. Yes it can be so hard going especially with Henry the 8th! Alison Weir is a brilliant author though Thank you!
❤
Is there much about his sister Margaret who he treated very badly?
Not as much as I was hoping for but she is in the book
My cat does that but she doesn’t cause such a dent😂
Speaking of Sex and the City, have you seen And Just Like That?
I do watch AJLT, not a great fan of it but it is starting to improve. What do you think to it??
👏❤️
