Beautiful video Jeri! I always love the “let’s make it”, ( be it baking, cooking crafting) part of your video along with the story telling. I suppose that is ALL of the video, right?!.☺️
A few days back I was remembering my grandmother’s nativity set. She used to put it up back in the late 60s early 70s for us. It was beautiful and pretty old. She even used a mirror to make a small body of water at a distance from the manger. It had animals, shepherds, angel above the manger and even the dark angel at a distance on the trees. I have never seen the type lights she used, they looked like tiny lava lamps because it looked like they had colored fluid in them. She too was a great story teller. Thank you for sharing with us, I truly love and appreciate all of it.

Jerri, of all your wonderful videos, this is the most touching, the most blessed and, for me, the most heartwarming. The stories are so special that I felt as though I was in your home and you were sharing your Christmas wisdom just with me. I'm sure all of your CZcams followers feel the same way. My Mother said as a child in the 1920s people here in our valley of Eastern KY would put handkerchiefs on the Church tree with a small gift for the person whose name they had drawn. God bless you. Jeri, I lived very near Bethlehem, PA for more than 30 years. They still celebrate Christmas in a big way and it's beautiful. I love the stars and will make some myself. I wish I could still do the baking, but I can't stand for long without a lot of pain. So I will appreciate your baking success and admire the ornaments you have baked and dried and strung. Your tree is lovely and has a calming effect on me. That alone is a precious gift in this very busy time. Christmas wouldn't be complete without the nativity set up in our home. I bought it shortly after we were married. It has been battered and broken over the many years I have set it up. But it still has pride of place. I've read that poem myself many years ago. Happy 11th day of Christmas.
This made me think of my elderly neighbor, when my family first moved to Lake Placid, NY. Lottie B. Anson.
She gave me a box of these stars for Christmas and told me that she had been making them since she was a girl. (I was 8 years old at the time.) She dunked her's in melted candle wax, to preserve, and sprinkled the wet wax with glitter. That was 1974. I have one left that is sitting proudly on my tree.
I may make some companions for it. But, different, because I don't ever want to mistake which one is her's.
I've decided that this year will be Christmas centered. Everything I do, grow or make will have Christmas as the end result. Because, Christmas is my thing!❤

Only one remark: in Italy the child Jesus appears in the "presepe" only on 24th December at midnight. The first presepe was prepared by S. Francesco in Greccio a tiny village in the Rieti province upon his return from Palestine.

For years, I have enjoyed the 12 days of Christmas as I finally have time to quiet myself in the season. For me it’s like this: The days leading up to Christmas are like the days awaiting the arrival of a baby, it’s only the beginning, that joy of birth lasts for days upon days, and that is how I see the birth of Christ~joy that lingers just a bit longer into the season (as it should). My decor stays up until January 6th and this helps as the winter settles in. ~Merry Christmas ~

The stars and your tree is beautiful !! When I was a child growing up on a farm in south western Pennsylvania, my grandmother taught me to make homemade ornaments from what ever we could find. She made corn husk angels, croched snow flakes and we raised peacocks so we always added shedded peacock feathers. We popped popcorn and made garland. She had a few store bought ornaments and I remember thinking they were real gold and the most beautiful things I had ever seen. When she passed, I got the ornaments and still put them on my tree. I have the highest respect for you that you did not leave out the reason for Christmas but that you proudly announced the name the Jesus. While it’s just after Easter 2022, I think this is one of the most beautiful videos you have made to celebrate our lord! Merry Christmas Jeri, husband and all the critters! I loved making the paper stars. I always turn them so they're more 3D. I might have to try your other way where they look more flat. I could glue a red Irish Crochet Rose on it or a vintage button. Loved the entire video. Jesus was the greatest gift ever.
