This is fantastic. My ears perked up when I heard you play a few bars of RacerX in part1, but then I literally spat out my tea when you launched into one of my own 90s band’s songs here in part2. Great job !
Virtually every amp sounds like there's a Treble pedal in front for that clicky punch. No true sag, very solid state and I think that's what people like.
I cannot thank you enough for doing this. I have been back and forth on the Axe III vs a certain tube amp or two and you have helped me immensely. Basically, if someone cannot get at least one great tone (several actually) out of an Axe III/Fractal unit, it's not the fault of the gear. Going to order a III as soon as funds allow.
@Andrei James Because it sounds better, feels better, and is a connection bw a player and their gear rather than a player and a program. It's like real and electronic drums- one is an instrument which responds differently to where it's hit tonally and in terms of how hard. These are simulations of feel. If it works for you great. Would you rather play in a band or sing to a karoke machine?
If this doesn't prove amps are finally dead I don't know what does. Those Ernie Ball guitars sound freaking amazing. That JP15 is a monster axe. I have no clue how you remembered all of those riffs. I love my XLII, but might be time to upgrade to the III and buy this patch bank.
awesome playing and respect for going all the way bro! I particularly like the Friedman HBE from the new axe fx 3, it just sounds killer. I have used it on a clip too (destroyer of dreams)
Howdy sir are these straight out of the box presets or did you modify them. Are they straight from the Naked amps download? And lots of guitar knowledge well done .
Fantastic job cooper. Helped me last night for a gig. Is it possible to get more details regarding the extra effects you put in for each of the naked amp presets?
wow lots of great riffs in here!!! great job!!...it would be cool to see how close you can get the axe fx3 to sound like the iconic guitar riffs on the recordings
Cooper how long have you been playing guitar for and how long did it take you to learn all these riffs and get to an advanced playing level? Did you take lessons and if so how long for? Nice playing. Been curious about how the Axe FX III compares to the Kemper.
Hey Cooper! Incredible work buddy. I’m thinking of buying the new Fractal FM3 . Will these downloads work with that unit ? Also , is your website down at the moment ? I can’t seem to access austinbuddy.com Thanks in advance ! Steve
I’m in the slow class but I’m guessing that you like EB/MM guitars? 😜 nice axe and playing. You gotta button at least on button on that shirt though little brother! Seriously sweet gear and tones!
man, that has incredible amount of sounds, but some sound too digital. And it is too expensive as well, like 3 times the GT1000. I dont really know what it is.. is it better than AX8?
The truth is you need to tweak each and every amp in there to your guitar. maybe if you have a run of the mill stock guitar you be ok. I dont do that. I have Tom Anderson h3+ in the bridge, H1- in the neck. extreme I know but the practice of tweaking the presets to your guitar is important, usuallky get a better sound if I start a preset new and dial it in to my guitar.
I know, compared to past units from various companies e.g. VG8/99, Line6 etc etc, this unit is 'fantastic' and offers an almost infinite routing and processing capability with bags of processing power to spare, but....BUT!!! there's something 'organic' clearly missing. The interaction and feedback from a real tube amplifier + real speaker + real FX, pedals etc is not there, and this is a long-standing and still present criticism. I love this technology and, along with computer 'plug-ins' e.g. FX, Positive Grid etc etc, works well in a mix. But on their own (including this Mk III version) I find the sounds very lacking compared to the 'real thing'. However, I'd imagine younger folk growing up in this modern real-amp-less world won't be as put-off compared to the rest of us who grew up with the real thing. Still, that difference is very definitely still there. A good 'real' amp + pedals is hugely versatile!
No, totally fair. I'm just saying, doing this video took long enough! Timecodes are past what I have the time to do, but if you think they'd be helpful, I've certainly had people do them in comments before. Just like I've had people translate videos they wanted translated. I was being serious...it is a "social" media after all.
This guy is an amazing player. He's the MACHINE!!! Now the actual unit though just sounds like typical digital modeling, nothing special. Nothing here sounds like a real amp for live work just a cool toy to play with at home.

Yes the Axe unit is amazing .... and the player is world class and beyond ! Totally enjoyed every riff . Simply awesome .
These videos are, hands down, the best demos of a product I've ever seen. Great job.
Suggestion for later videos, put the song name in the screen too.
The Flamed necks on those musicman guitars is beautiful
Great demo, thanks for that Paradigm Shift by LTE. Got my smile going.
Wow, thanks so much for all the time it must have taken to put that together! Superb playing, feel and tone. Well done! 👍👍👍👍👍👍
This is amazing! Thanks for taking the time to put this together. Love the riff choices too.
This is fantastic. My ears perked up when I heard you play a few bars of RacerX in part1, but then I literally spat out my tea when you launched into one of my own 90s band’s songs here in part2. Great job !
Fantastic! I'm listening to these with Spotify pulled up and going to the full songs!
Do put up a list of your findings!
Most Excellent. I am sold. They just need to get them back in stock
Virtually every amp sounds like there's a Treble pedal in front for that clicky punch. No true sag, very solid state and I think that's what people like.
Effects presets always make you want to play the riff they remind you of but this takes it to another level! Awesome video.
Great playing mate!
Buy the tube amps if you still can.

Great vid!! Been waiting for something like this
Whoa, that neon riff is sooo amazing!!! (hard to play as well)
Amazing job. Great playing. Lots of inspiring tones. You gave me some great ideas for covering tunes. Cheers.
You do understand these models were based off AMPS ??? hahahahaaaa...so again, it proves what? Very poor logic
@@johnjohnson6672 It proves that smart DSP code can simulate any current amp and create endless new amps from scratch. Goodbye actual amps!
sounds pretty good. really lets the tone of guitar shine through.
NOW I get why they cost so much, incredible tone, well played, fantastic talent and thanks for posting it must of taken hours 👍👍👍
Uuhh, even Redbone and that Jackass riff. Cool👌🏻
Well done on spirit of radio! Very clean
Wow, amazing player
Carter thank you so much sorry I didn’t find this earlier oh yes by the way you rock bro
You’re hired! When can you start? I hope they paid you well for that. Excellent.
awesome playing and respect for going all the way bro!
I particularly like the Friedman HBE from the new axe fx 3, it just sounds killer. I have used it on a clip too (destroyer of dreams)
Came for the axe stayed for both parts for playing. Awesome. So many songs I forgot. Freaking halo too! Lol
Drivin’ n Cryin’!!!
I got taken to a different dimension when you busted out Living Colour.
13:53 - "That Thing You Do" !! Nice choice!
Question? How long did it take to put this video together?
Great stuff!
Howdy sir are these straight out of the box presets or did you modify them. Are they straight from the Naked amps download? And lots of guitar knowledge well done
.
ToeB001 Woof I came on to ask the same question. Are these included presets?????
Like anyone ever needed that many.
Fantastic job cooper. Helped me last night for a gig. Is it possible to get more details regarding the extra effects you put in for each of the naked amp presets?
thanx for great video! can you write what kind of music man's you used here, please
16:34 - essential to pull the right face.
Just WOW...! You sure win on "betcha can't play this" :-))
You play really well eric johnson, he is my favorite guitarist ever...
i lost it when you played bad asteroid jhdkslahdfas
great demo, if i had the money i'd get one for sure. btw...where did you get the computer wallpaper? its awesome man.
INsane Work !!! Great !! Amazing !!!!
Is interesting how you achieved very close tones to the originals. Some of the amps I didn't recongnize.
Nice selection again! Peg, Backstreet Boys, and the Jackass theme? Haha
wow lots of great riffs in here!!! great job!!...it would be cool to see how close you can get the axe fx3 to sound like the iconic guitar riffs on the recordings
Hi Cameron superb video, what model is the music man with the 15 at the first fret? Thanks
Put me down for one of those Axe Fx III and a JP15
Question- these are naked presets, correct??? So you added all the effects, and are not included when purchasing from AB???
Awesome as always Cooper!
What pack are these from please? Amazing on so many levels 👍
Cooper how long have you been playing guitar for and how long did it take you to learn all these riffs and get to an advanced playing level? Did you take lessons and if so how long for? Nice playing. Been curious about how the Axe FX III compares to the Kemper.
Thanks Cooper! Question: Do you use the Mission Engineering FRFR? Thanks again..
Yes, the Gemini wedges are on the floor
Hey Cooper! Incredible work buddy.
I’m thinking of buying the new Fractal FM3 . Will these downloads work with that unit ? Also , is your website down at the moment ? I can’t seem to access austinbuddy.com
Thanks in advance !
Steve
He's doing a new FM3 pack. My website isn't AustinBuddy. You'd have to ask him. Message him on the fractal forum.
Man!!! How did you get the Comfortably Numb tone?
Hrumph - "Jackass Theme" - that's "Corona" by the Minutemen
Extremely true
I’m in the slow class but I’m guessing that you like EB/MM guitars? 😜 nice axe and playing. You gotta button at least on button on that shirt though little brother! Seriously sweet gear and tones!
The "Jackass theme" is actually called "Corona" by the Minutemen.
"Strange Deja Vu" and "Sultans of Swing" got me too hype.
Just bought the Axe-Fx lll but I don't see any of these presets you are playing on. Are these presets part of the Austin Buddy tone packs?
After someone wins, post up the list of the songs!
For sure! I will on Tues
Mega props for the Andy Timmons! He's a god among men. I'm sold, this thing is bitchin..
Last Week Tonight FTW @ 18:06
Hey Cooper, how is the FC12? I noticed the same on the floor....If you can give some insight.... that will be great.
Halo 2 theme hahahaha that was amazing
You, Sir, have way to much time on your hands =P. How come the Recto's are so super fuzzy?
Can we play redbone melody with dual pitch effect?
Why are there commercials in a commercial?
Is this every preset, or just one preset with all different amps????
Are these all preset patches that come as is with the unit?
man, that has incredible amount of sounds, but some sound too digital. And it is too expensive as well, like 3 times the GT1000. I dont really know what it is.. is it better than AX8?
Anyone know what the Tube Pre riff at 19:55 is? It sounds like an older Opeth riff, but not sure.
Dream Theater - On the Back of Angels
Only right some dt and liquid tensions thrown in on the music men
Well, fucking sold. I’m selling my Triple Rectifier and buying an FM3
Anybody know what song 250 is?????
Do Austinbuddy do artist presets for the AX8?
These presets are available for the AX8, yes
I take it this was done directly through the USB interface?
Correct
Is it 0:39 theme from "Jackass" ? :D
Yep. It's The Minutemen. czcams.com/video/jlxmKsTvcLg/video.html
How well does this do metallica? I keep hearing it doesn't do Metallica very well at all that I should get an AxeFx II...
? Metallica literally uses these onstage. I built the presets they use. It does Metallica damn well 😊
@@coopercarter Amazing so they use the III?
@@kornelious1 yes for a while, now, and the II before that
What song is played at 11:34?
What's My Age Again - Blink-182
The truth is you need to tweak each and every amp in there to your guitar. maybe if you have a run of the mill stock guitar you be ok. I dont do that. I have Tom Anderson h3+ in the bridge, H1- in the neck. extreme I know but the practice of tweaking the presets to your guitar is important, usuallky get a better sound if I start a preset new and dial it in to my guitar.
Time stamps would've been cool
Time stamps on part 1 scroll down to comments
Aw man I was hoping for some Yngwie
Nvm
Needs numbers next to the amp name. Time code in the description. Very hard to follow.
The amps are in ABC order, just like they are in the unit. If alphabetical order is hard to follow for you ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Cooper Carter Ok, so I want to hear riff 193 in an instant. How?
Go ahead and add timecodes to a comment if you like. This is social media, after all.
Cooper Carter Hey dude, only giving you some constructive feedback :)
No, totally fair. I'm just saying, doing this video took long enough! Timecodes are past what I have the time to do, but if you think they'd be helpful, I've certainly had people do them in comments before. Just like I've had people translate videos they wanted translated. I was being serious...it is a "social" media after all.
Omg Donald Glover's
Bass and electric guitar great; what about the acoustic guitar?
Wow, it's not about the Axe Fx III, its about cooper carter as usual. Look how good I think I am.
@@derekbaker4522 cool bro
This guy is an amazing player. He's the MACHINE!!! Now the actual unit though just sounds like typical digital modeling, nothing special. Nothing here sounds like a real amp for live work just a cool toy to play with at home.
What song is at 13:40?
Paul Gilbert's "Hurry Up"
@@coopercarter Thanks! Great playing man.
