I would rather have this imperfect performance rather than an artificial lipped performance ANY day, because the sound of Mariah's voice is still the most beautiful sound I've ever heard.
Squizree the whistles were still lipped here. However, her belts and her falsetto (minus a bit of intonation issues) were on point.
Everybody says that she has lost her touch.. But to me personally, this is her most enjoyable performance of the song.. Usually she's just lazy but here she looks so energetic and happy!! I love it.. She did several ad libs runs belts that was very impressive ( on hero.. My all.. Always be my baby etc) Boy.. Nick did something good here she wass hiiighhh...
LOL for one thing she has even said she finds it easier to sing in the higher registers and whistle tones are easier for her, rather than belting.. How about all of you try to belt perfectly after a 24 year career putting your all into it 100% of the time! FOR EVER LOVE MC :)

I really like the lines from 00:39 to 00:45 she made here. The tone is clear for "loooove" and very deep for "aliiiiiive" - just like the studio version.
What a time to be a lamb this must have been. I was only a couple months late to appreciate this, but she was still respected by the general public here and #Beautiful was about to be a summer hit. God I love this.
I bet her whistles (G7) are still there. Belts are hard to do after 20 years, but whistles are easy. AMAZING

Mariah is still human. Maybe something happened to her vocal chords, but the musicality is there. Even in the low ranges, her choices of notes are very appropriate. She's just tired already...

Mariah Carey has been singing for i don't know how long so it's obvious that her voice is tired! She can still sing, she just sounds different because she sings soooooo much and that can tire your voice! She is in her 40's of course her voice doesn't sound like it did in 1990!!! Plus she has kids and that can put pressure on your vocal chords! So for someone to say Mariah Carey can't sing is illogical!
Ppl act like Olympians can still run quick as fuck 20years on ... This is no different.

I would rather love a horrible vocal performance like The Rockefeller performance that was horrible but it was a live I would not want to waste my money on a lip synced perfomance
she lost it a bit as she sings the song 3 keys lower than the original, but even her with 60% of the voice she used to have is better than most singers

What the hell happened to her voice? Sounded like she has partially dying....
She had many problems back in 01' and 02' and her voice suffered....Depression, mental and health breakdown, and that took the tool in her voice! But she can still sing, but the thing is that she doesn't have her old range and her breath ir not the same either.

what a hot ass mess. the band is so loud they are drowning her voice out. i can't believe she can't even sing her own song. she looks so winded. it looks like such an effort for her to get up there after all these years. she shouldn't have done this song.
