  • This video is for every weekend warrior out there thinking about doing a vinyl fence. Construct the fence before digging the post hole. After the fence is built circle a spot where the post should go. I predug most of the hole so you wouldn’t be bored to death. Dig the hole and install the 5x5 post in and add concrete and backfill. Thanks for viewing my video. Good luck. Feel free to leave some feedback. Thanks again.

    I have watch many videos on making fence but this give me more confidence. Because you are doing it section by section which has has a low possibility of things going wrong and can take as much time you want to complete it.

    Wow so simple yet I never would have thought of this idea. Thanks so much. Very clever way of doing this

    Did fencing for almost 10 years. For vinyl dig all your post holes then set your post in concrete with the bottom rail only. Do the panels and top rail the next day. You don’t want wind or anything else playing with the post when your concrete is curing out. Always give concrete at least 12 cure time to prevent separation. Pro tip: Vince is very slick and not porous, put two hex nuts screws at the bottom of the post for the concrete to grab onto!

      Does setting both posts in concrete with the bottom rail in place make it difficult to insert the top rail once everything is set?

    That is a hell of a digging bar, that thing will give you permanent shoulder problems, they make much lighter version that do just as good.
    Also a sharp shooter on a long handle works extremely good.

      Sometimes you need to break through some stuff. Plus, the heavier bar will build character…

      or you could do all holes and get it over with so u can start snapping everything together and not having to stop to dig next hole wouldnt say its smarter but it is a different way

      @rileywhite5091 the major problem with vinyl fences is that people mess up their posts when they set them. then they have to go back and remove already cemented posts. this strategy fixes that.

    Do you count how many panels you use to make each section even? This is very a efficient way of building a vinyl gate, unless it’s unleveled

    I’m looking at building a vinyl fence with 0 experience. You moved it out of the way very easily, does it always do that? Or what locks it in? I will also have a 45 degree turn to make so I’m very interested in that maneuver

    • @cotter2626
      @cotter2626  Před rokem

      It’s super flexible, The panel you create just sits in a groove and I imagine it wouldn’t be hard at all to get real close to the angle you need. The other 4x4 is what locks it in place. Let me know if you have anymore questions.

      A lot of people use concrete if they live in a windy area, but if youre in a calm area you only need concrete where a fence gate is

      This way ensures you don't cut pieces if you ever pour concrete. Also eliminates the cost of U handles, used to cover gaps when post were set too far, or cuts.
