When you watch someone review these Sony phones that actually understands how cameras and photography works, it really makes you realise just how much the average youtuber doesn't know and understand how cameras and photography works. They literally don't know anything outside of how an iphone or perhaps how a Galaxy works. So the Xperia just seems to confuse them.

@@AmaxterPlays He is by no means a professional videographer not even close. If we hand him over an Alpha camera and take him out to different places and ask him to use the Manual mode on it. He will not be able to get as good results as what a true pro can get(not even close).

i love the design and build quality, no fancy shining colors, perfect screen, much better than hole punch/waterdrop etc.
uninterrupted 4k 120hz 21:9 oled beauty.
Mine came Sunday and I'm loving it. The 6.5" 4K HDR OLED display is something I never seen before. I can't explain how good it is. I need to learn how to use the Photo Pro app (the settings) to the best quality photos. It's only a few days that I have, so, I didn't have time to explore everything yet. But, certainly the best acquisition I ever made.
Overall this phone is very good better then others flagship phones?
@@monimchowdhury247 I can't say if it's better then others flagships because never had other then Xperia. Even in the time doesn't have smartphones I used Sony. But what I can say it's better and much better than it's predecessors. The colors are alive. The camera's Pro function zoom with three diferentes range are very helpful. I'm amateur user and I can say, only, for myself. But, after a few months I am very satisfied.

You're videos are one of the best on CZcams. MKBHDs videos are good, but they are all cookie cutter. Yours are funny, crazy quality, and lengthy with proper amount of technical knowledge.

Feedback: If you show the camera menu and play with the functions it would be nice to actually see what is happening. Point the Camera on a subject.
Yes, I was about to comment it. Like a small tree, toy, fruit on which he can change lens and try zooming in and out. Which can also make audience know pretty much more about the camera rather than verbal description.
I dunno what's your problem with 3.5mm. Every wired headphones that I could think of, including those that over 300 bucks price tag comes with 3.5mm.
If the alternatives is so much better then why those studio monitor still sticks to 3.5mm?
The headphone jack is one of the features that makes me want this phone, but I cackled out loud at the "Grandmother's Buick" comment and was still chuckling at it 5 minutes later.

Now we really need a removable battery. Seriously, battery failures are so common with all phones (and notebook computers) needing to send it out for service is a real problem.
Since I started using prime lenses in my Olympus pen F I've never went back to zoom lenses. So this xperia 1 III is the perfect smartphone for me

Why am I watching MKBHD? Nothing against the guy, but you can tell he drinks Apple's and Samsung's Kool Aid. He called this Xperia a "weird" phone. I'll leave it right their. This is a real good and balanced review. Probably one of the best reviewers I've seen.

I think what a lot of reviewers got wrong about its cameras is that it saves a lot more data than shown, so you can tune the picture/video later.
Yup - it gives you more image, so you can edit it to your content afterwards - including mimicking the look and feel of the image processing that they're comparing it to, if you're into that. Is it as easy as using the other - no, but you can't regain the data lost in their "imaging"
Are you sure about the zoom between 70mm & 105 mm? You said that's digital. But i think it adjusts the zoom level by the variable lens. Thanks

That is why I still believe that camera hardware is more important than camera software. You can do multiple changes with the image processing algorithm in any time, but it's almost impossible to change the camera hardware sensor unless if we are talking about Fairphone 3 and 3+. At the end of the day, great camera hardware with great glass optics pays dividend.

Sony sells a very very nice case for this phone. Alcantara like material with a beautiful stand
Sony makes perfect hardware systems. I got the 5ii. The only thing that is lacking is software userfriendliness in the stock camera app. Look at the competition. Changing lenses while filming for example. Better HDR nightmode. And selfie camera should be better
4k 120fps in HGL mode... and that was just the 2nd feature after the 100mm optical variable lense intro. SHITTT. This has more power than the $2400 A7 III.

Good review the brightness has always been an issue imo. I returned the 1ii coz of the outdoor brightness. Hope it's not the same this time around. And NO auto brightness does not fix that.

Following your suggestion I put on my pixel earbuds to listen to the 360 reality audio. There certainly, absolutely was a different spatial experience that I've never had before. I could hear different musical instruments arranged left to right in front of me, and they moved. This was very clear. Unique.
I've always heard people talk about sound stage but never really heard it except for being either left or right. This was amazing in how well I could hear separation.
I don't know if I would like to listen to it all the time.
I do have a question. Does this only work with a particular recording of music? Or will it work with any stereo audio source?
It's specific recordings, there's videos on youtube (search some of your favorite artist + 8D, 16D, 24D or 360), if you're into it. I was too lazy and even on my stereo laptop speakers, I was pretty impressed how much I could hear the difference from his samples.
If I use this as an external monitor for camera, can I use Bluetooth earphones to monitor the audio? Thanks!!

Sir - Loved your Review - but please advise me on :
1) The Sunlight Legibility and Visibility/ Readability.
2) Sony's Software Update Patterns - I have a Google Pixel 2 and the camera has been fantastic.
3) Night Mode of Sony's Cameras?
1) I'm too lazy to look up the nits, but I definitely saw a review where it showed the screen nicely visible taking pictures in direct sunlight.
2) I think you already know that nothing compares to Pixels updates. I've read 3 or 4 updates, but somewhere Sony says officially
3) If you want that make the night look like day look - not part of Sony's software (AFAIK). Sony gives more realistic night shots & not see in the dark. Not sure if it is part of Google Camera app (but you could add that to use on the phone, in addition to stock or possibly other apps). You'll have to post process the image with software. Additionally you can over expose the shot. There's also a feature if you take an over exposed and underexposed shot then it can combine them for a nice result.

The selfie camera for sure isn’t a great one.. I am anyways not a selfie person but when you are with a group, it makes a massive difference. To be fair, I think we all need Sony to focus a bit on the UX for sure. Other than that - this device is a GUN.

What an awsome phone. Congrats to sony. I might be able to buy it.
If you take into account the quality, the top of line and un equaled specs, the fact that honestly, we don't even talk to each other anymore and it's really about the Camera and it's performance, and also, this phone and the muscle it brings to cell phone game, it will remain unsurpassed for at least few years, then it worth the 1300. Why save 3 or 4 hundred when you can have king of the jungle. It's really a top of line camera that happens to also be a phone. I am such a kook, I love the message indicator light! This has disappeared in recent years and is a Great addition! SD card, huge! My worries are it's to big, but will see when I can actually hold. I like have a phone that is not slightly ahead of pack, but years ahead and this is. To me it makes it worth the money.
Question. Does everyone else have the same problems and issues that I have in sending videos to someone on messenger or hangouts? ie. It can take ages for it to be ready to send, and is this Normal?

I have a Spigen case around my 1 II and it doesn't vibrate .. :-) Nobody would use this phone (or the mk 3) without a case really .. it REALLY IS slippery _AF_
You left out that the phone is WiFi 6 compliant. Other than that, a great job on the review. Presently awaiting delivery of my purple version.
