I turned 21 in 1989 and took my first trip to vegas. We were there for the "soft opening" of the Mirage in November. It wasn't supposed to open for a while but it was ready early if I remember correctly. I remember being impressed with all the gold (colored) plated everything, including the pay phones. I have a picture of myself pretending to talk on one. Good times.
I worked at the Mirage up until closing, well at least my release date (yesterday). It was great place to be, wonderful guests and coworkers. A little sad, I hope HardRock does it right!

I met you at Jamul San Diego earlier this year. I brought up an earlier comment I made on a previous video comparing your channel to the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. WBG uttered and I'm Ed McMahon. Whenever I'm out at the casino I usually ask neighboring gamblers if they watch CZcams slot channels and if yes, I show them the pic of me and Vegas Matt. 10 out of 10 know who you are! I stand by my original comment about this channel. The slot machines are just a backdrop for the personalities. The Mirage was the first casino I ever went to, my parents brought me when I was 13 and I will never forget that trip, it’s the last of its kind, there’s just something special about this casino and I’m sad to see it go Love you Vegas Matt, and EJ and WBG too I guess

I had an amazing matchbook / box collection from my childhood years. When I separated from my first wife she took not only my kids , teddy bear and house but also my match box collection. 😢the collection had match boxes and matchbooks from all other the world , when family and friends travelled over seas they brought them back for me. I got the kids back and a new house but I’ve never gotten over the lost of my teddy bear or matchbox collection . 😢

The Mirage will always have a special place in my heart, it was where we stayed on our first visit to Vegas back in 2004. We were (are) from the UK and seeing Las Vegas for the first time was mind blowing, and we couldn't believe the sheer scale of everything. I still have the plastic drinks cups from around the Mirage pool and they still get used......Happy days and brilliant memories!
I was there in May when they announced the closure and got my "souvenir" poker chip and a few T-shirts for the kids. So happy to see you and the crew giving it the send off it deserves. BTW, my favorite Bway show was "Sweeny Todd" with Angela Lansbury.

We had dinner at an excellent Italian restaurant-so intimate and outstanding I went to my first Cirque du soleil there too! I got married in Vegas 20 years ago. We stayed at the Mirage for 12 days and had a blast all over Vegas. Was my first and only Vegas trip thus far in my life. Sad to see it go.
Been to vegas over a dozen times...lived in vegas for 2 years....never went to the mirage one time....i only went that direction (off las vegas boulevard onto tropicana) twice in my life.....unless youre going to the new stadium, there is no reason to go that direction and its considered by most as off-strip now...
I recently got the pleasure to meet at the motor City in Detroit Michigan meet and greet like a groupie at a concert I snuck in and got in line to have my picture taken I commented to WBG I bet you never knew you were going to be so popular to Vegas Matt I said to you that I was so excited to meet you and that your wife looks so much better looking in person and stood next to you to take the picture and gave you a little squeeze it was so nice to shake hands with your son and of course your lovely wife. @@kenqiao3946 Yep, kids are allowed in most of the casinos, just not allowed to stand by the gambling or bar areas. My Dad used to make me bring him food while he was playing slots lol

I had an amazing matchbook / box collection from my childhood years. When I separated from my first wife she took not only my kids , teddy bear and house but also my match box collection. 😢the collection had match boxes and matchbooks from all other the world , when family and friends travelled over seas they brought them back for me. I got the kids back and a new house but I’ve never gotten over the lost of my teddy bear or matchbox collection . 😢
My wife and I just met WBG and your wife at motor city casino a few weeks ago,on the left side of the stage we talked for a few minutes. They were both really nice and hospitable..

The Mirage will always have a special place in my heart, it was where we stayed on our first visit to Vegas back in 2004.
We were (are) from the UK and seeing Las Vegas for the first time was mind blowing, and we couldn't believe the sheer scale of everything. I still have the plastic drinks cups from around the Mirage pool and they still get used......Happy days and brilliant memories!
I was there in May when they announced the closure and got my "souvenir" poker chip and a few T-shirts for the kids. So happy to see you and the crew giving it the send off it deserves. BTW, my favorite Bway show was "Sweeny Todd" with Angela Lansbury.

This was the first casino I stayed my first visit to Vegas. My husband and I were celebrating our 10th anniversary. We had dinner at an excellent Italian restaurant-so intimate and outstanding
I went to my first Cirque du soleil there too! Fell in love with Vegas after that experience and have been back many times!

We met Team Matt at Resorts World, on our vacation in April 2024. We so hoped to meet you as we were in from the UK, so was pure chance we walked past you whilst about to play Buffalo Link! I got married in Vegas 20 years ago. We stayed at the Mirage for 12 days and had a blast all over Vegas. Was my first and only Vegas trip thus far in my life. Sad to see it go.

Been to vegas over a dozen times...lived in vegas for 2 years....never went to the mirage one time....i only went that direction (off las vegas boulevard onto tropicana) twice in my life.....unless youre going to the new stadium, there is no reason to go that direction and its considered by most as off-strip now...

I recently got the pleasure to meet at the motor City in Detroit Michigan meet and greet like a groupie at a concert I snuck in and got in line to have my picture taken I commented to WBG I bet you never knew you were going to be so popular to Vegas Matt I said to you that I was so excited to meet you and that your wife looks so much better looking in person and stood next to you to take the picture and gave you a little squeeze it was so nice to shake hands with your son and of course your lovely wife. The funny part was your reply when you said I know the camera puts 10 years on you. what a great sport you are really enjoy the channel and the camaraderie between you your son and WBG.

Met you at the Mirage in high limits on 5 de mayo weekend! You talked to me and 3 other friends for like 3-4 minutes as you waited for your jackpot money on Buffalo lol Great times and memories at the Mirage, it will always hold a special place in my heart.
We *sort of* met you… my husband and I are big gamblers and we watch slot videos on CZcams everyday but somehow hadn’t come across your channel. Totally unrelated, we booked a Virgin cruise. Just before the cruise, my husband saw something about the cruise being hosted by a slot CZcams guy and told me about it, so we watched one or two of your old videos (but again- we weren’t super familiar).
On the cruise, my husband recognized you and loudly yelled “Hey! There’s Vegas Mike!!!” Needless to say, you gave us kind of a weird look but we kept walking.
After the cruise, we started watching your videos every single day and now you and EJ and WBG are our absolute favorites. My husband says sorry for calling you the wrong name, lolololol.

I’m in Phoenix now but I was just a kid outside the mirage when it opened and it’s crazy to see all these old casinos go… it’s like toilet paper, it goes fast. My girlfriend and I met you in the high limit room at Hard Rock in Atlantic City. I was so star stuck I prob came off as an idiot. We later took pictures at the meet and greet and you guys signed my girlfriend’s shirt. It was so awesome to meet you guys, you all are all so such nice great people . That was very generous that you provided drinks and snacks for the meet and greet too.
When you have 5 hats or 2 saws drop on the first 2 reels do a quick stop. The last one almost always flys by.

I was in Vegas in 1989 just after the Mirage opened , and got a kick out of the moving sidewalk from Caesars palace Hotel into the Mirage. You remember way back then Vegas Matt.
This a very sad day. I have so many great memories of the Mirage.
