      I said that to when I first move out on my own, 2 weeks later 30 flies in the hpuse, fly eggs, maggots, maggots caccoon surround my bin, inside my bin and crawling around my bin, after that the bin area is high priority for me hahahaha

    It's very telling that when questioned(after the video), the Defendant said she had photos of the "living conditions", not "how it was left". And, she changed her story about there being trash and needing to pay for it to be cleaned. All of a sudden, after the video, there was "no trash" left behind. I saw the photos and thought the Plaintiff was in for it. Good thing she had the video. It's crazy how some people can lie so easily and change their story when evidence is later produced.

      The minute the defendant was proven to be a liar the case should have been called. You shouldn't have to go to court to get your security deposit back, and it calls into question everything the landlord said.

      Justifying the story to fit their desire, which is a fictional portrayal of reality. That’s what I told our boys when they were kids and lying to me. It worked because it gave them just enough time to figure out what I was saying and what it meant before I brought the subject of the lie up. I caught them off guard every time!

      I agree. There should've been a walkthrough with the tenant vacating the premises and the manager/ owner so that both parties can come to a consensus that the place was, in fact, clean or dirty.

      My parents had pigs and said that they actually have a separate space for each. So technically she is worse than a pig. I too remember pigs always eating in the front of the cage, sleeping to the right and doing business on the left.

    That is so embarrassing for a landlord to bring pictures where the whole world can see how nasty someone was living. That's why you suppose to keep your apartment, room you rent, or house clean because you never know when someone will take pictures and embarrass you and show others. Plus, I can't stand a person who let garbage pile up in a house and rather live in funk and filth than go to the dumpster or trash cans outside its ridiculous.

      The landlord is lucky she got her to leave. I just had to clean up after a tenant who was evicted through the court system, and it took 2 people 2 days to clean ONE BEDROOM. 15 bags of garbage, rental of a commercial carpet shampooer, drug paraphernalia, chicken bones, dirt in the carpet. A landlord's nightmare.

      The pictures shown of her room are before she moved out. Which is rude, because any sane person would clean up before the landlord will inspect and take pictures.

    She really didn't want to give up that $500 deposit 😂😂😂.. just lying to jj... I'm surprised jj didn't call her out on her lies.. yes the lady was a filthy pig, but she didn't leave the room like that like she claimed.. she cleaned it up.. the landlord said there was trash..but even her own witness said there was no trash.. yet she showed jj a pic of a trashy nasty room stating it was taken on the day the tenant moved out. I dont think she should've been given anything cause she lied. If she lied about the trash, what else is she lying about?🤔

      Cleaning the bathroom should be normal wear not 200$ to clean video shows it was fairly clean nothing a little scrubbing and cleaning for 30 mins

      Who are you suggesting is robbing who? The landlord can offer to rent at whatever they want, and the tenant can offer to pay whatever they want.
      The landlord offering a room for rent by any tenant at $10,000/mo, and the tenant offering to rent a room from any landlord for $10/mo does not mean that any tenant is required to accept the landlord’s rate, or that any landlord is required to accept the tenant’s rate.
      The landlord wants to charge as much as they can, and the tenant wants to pay as little as they can. There’s nothing remarkable or surprising about that. That’s a textbook arm’s length transaction.

      @@davidb4113 your absolutely right.a landlord charges what he or she wants to.eleven yrs aga I worked at a place that was a restaurant and they rented rooms upstairs.the rent back then was $175 a week.and it went up every couple of months.i heard the man telling people that is what he wants for his rooms and anyone can move whenever they want to.

      It really is NOT WORTH IT unless you need the money.
      We've rented 3 bedrooms in a 7 bedroom house (for 10 years) and the tenants are a chore.
      One pulled a gun on us (and went to jail), one was a pig (court eviction), one was a bedwetter (in her 50's), one shoved me on the day he left. The rest have been normal and a pleasure.

      Don't do it. Everybody goes on about how landlords are scumbags and tenants are victims but the tables have very much turned. If you bring in tenants and they destroy the place you're more likely to get the shaft these days. The prospect of renting out property terrifies me, I'd only do it if I was filthy stinkin rich and could afford to occasionally take a hit, and if it wasn't in my personal home.

    I was paying $750 five years ago for a room in the Seattle area. Included utilities, and I had a dog. Bargain! But I had to help with the housework and yard work which I did gladly. I think plaintiff is being a bit entitled and probably why she was asked to leave.

    I am not familiar with rental laws in the USA, but in New Zealand, it is illegal for a landlord to retain the security deposit, which is called the "bond." The bond is held by a third party, the rental tribunal department. If a landlord wants to keep the bond for any reason, they must prove to the tribunal department why they are entitled to do so.

    I’ve seen very bad landlords and very bad tenants. In this case I think tenant like to eat and of course it’s stinks. And landlord didn’t like the smell of the food because she don’t eat . 🙄. I understand both parties. Young tenants must really carefully choose the property when renting . !!! That’s important.

    Its crazy to me there are people who are doctors or nurses with long hours at work, have kids, school, an entire house to keep up with and they have time to take out their trash but she doesn't???       Exactly, in other cases Judge Judy would say: ‘I don’t believe you.’ And it was evident after the video the tenant showed that she left the house in good order.’ And the concentration of bleach is way to high and toxic to use it ‘pure’. As a punishment because the landlord lied under oath Judge Judy should have lowered the expenses related to the bathroom cause it she lied about the trash how can we believe her regarding the bathroom?

One thing I did learn is that even when you think you may be committing a social faux pas, others sometimes enjoy that break from the regular boring stuff. It's true. So go ahead and sing. Or maybe begin with whistling to break them in. lol I whistle in the stores a lot. And I never wore those absurd masks, either. Kind of creepy that I was the only one. Oh well, have a good day.

    I believe the landlord, that was probably a before video and not after. I have a before video of my apartment when I moved in 2 years ago, if I upload it to CZcams today it will be a different time and date as when it was first recorded.

      So you actually don't believe the tenant then? And the metadata of the video would include the date it was recorded. If the plaintiff ONLY had the video uploaded to CZcams I'd be suspicious. Didn't need to get into all of that for this case though, we're only talking about $500.

We don't know for sure what day that video was first taken.

      I found my landlord that way when I moved from one city to another. It was $400 bucks a month for a room and he never entered my space for any reason. I lived there for 7 years without any real issues. It also included washer/dryer and cable. I got very lucky.

    She just told the world she lazy and nasty. She didn't have time to take out the trash. PLUS the trash can was far off from the house. She looks able bodied. The landlord shouldnt have gotten a penny she was misleading with those pictures.

      The landlord was showing HOW SHE LIVED (illegally entering the room), *not* HOW SHE LEFT IT. Kind of misleading.

    At $1000 for a room, the landlady could have cleaned the room herself. While I understand that the owner should be allowed to rent a room or a house, one should not overcharge those who cannot afford a house of their own.

    Times are tough past and present but you know what, iv had roomies and lived on my own , its way better to live by yourself than have drama no matter what it is... All kinds and types of people live a certain way and I'd rather do what i need to do to live the way i want and not have to answer to anyone, plus i love my privacy enough said. 😊

    The thing of it is , landlords generally keep ALL of the security deposit regardless of how much they actually expend on getting the place ready for the next tenant , and very rarely are they ever held accountable for their THEFT

    Why is her video on CZcams, when the date/time of upload shows instead of the original date and time of capture in the videos metadata, and conveniently titled “Moved Out”?
    Or in other words, do regular people upload their move out video in CZcams? I sure didn’t, I took photos and called it a day.

    The landlord is a liar. She was going in that room without warning and taking close up pictures of specific messes then lied about it being nasty when she moved out to keep her money. JJ shouldn't have awarded her anything because the pictures are of a clean space and she exaggerated until the video was shown. She even tried to lie and say it was the move in video not knowing that videos are date/time stamped. She probably goes into every tenants room when they're not home looking through their things and looking for excuses to keep their money.

    It’s more than a room; she had use of kitchen, Livingroom, presumably laundry facilities. Tenant agreed to it, it was probably a very nice home & location.
