I always got the impression that this is a couple of dudes I would like hanging out with, just solid people. As for us viewers, go on a backpacking trip or something, film it, just a casual carry along filming style, and upload it in 2-3 parts. No crazy expertise to worry about, except for some simple things put into practice, no lengthy teaching sessions, just video to keep things current while you get to enjoy a few days in the bush. A couple of bushcrafters do this to a great response. They show what they are bringing in an episode, and have a afterwards episode that reflects on some favorite parts.
I get the same reaction with my intro. Damned if I do, damned if I don't. Happy to see you back in front of the camera Krikster.

SO. yes but your intro is.... just kidding my friend, but you are an acquired taste your energy level can be some times lit to much but i still love your video's. as same for black owl i hope you come back with nice bushcraft video's i admire you all, because i know how much work you do behind the screen! teaching is bushcraft is enough for me. so guys don't listingen to much to those 'sofa bushcrafters' with to much free time on there hand and life and feed on their negativity, just think about all those folk whom love to see you guys out there and do what you do best!

People don't realize the amount of work it takes to produce good videos. It's a daunting task and sometimes overwhelming. We all need a break sometimes to prioritize things. All the best :-)

Good to see you in front of the camera again. You guys helped inspire me to make my own CZcams Channel. I like the nickname "Turtles" because all of us backpackers live out of what we carry on our backs.

This channel has inspired, educated and added poetry to my outdoorsman ship. Let alone introduced me to good music, great gear, both beautiful camera work and a sincere naturalism. Man, you guys have done some great, inspiring, and admirable work. We all need jobs to fuel our inspiration so best of luck at both.
I remember watching your videos when I first got really into bushcraft in 2013. You and your videos, and your brother's cinematography have been really helpful in getting into the craft. This is a great channel and like me , I believe that you have fans all over the world not just in the state.
Today , they are a lot of channels that talks about survival and outdoors but this one really touch me and I really like the way you make the videos .
A more free form vlog series about your work with minimal editing would likely be a great stopgap. Just plan the video, shoot it once, and upload it with all of its rough edges.

If you want to make some return on your channel get a 3rd party company to handle a basic merch line for you. Remember the beanies? They sold out so fast and were drastically under priced. Make some more beanies, tees, and maybe 4 other items and watch the level of support.

I was wondering why I hadn't seen recent video notices for awhile. Several months I got a new phone cuz my old one kept overheating. I lost all of my contacts and you tube channels - had to start over. Turns out you've been away for awhile! Well, welcome back and just get the videos out when you can. We'll wait!

I knew something was missing from my feed!
I have a friend who's making a good living from CZcams. He said nothing happened until he hit a hundred thousand subscribers, and then people started offering him money to do this and that, and gave him a lot of free publicity. His subscribers jumped up to almost half a million in a few months because of the support, and the higher his base went, the more people contacted him with money, contracts, and you name it.
I have a feeling it's largely a crapshoot. Some people recognize an area they know well that's going to get a ton of subscribers, but I suspect they're mostly guessing, as well/
My feeling is like that of my friend. He had no intention of earning a living from CZcams. He just did what he loved doing, and figured that was enough. As it turned out, he did it better than most, but he never expected it, or planned for it.
I like the TURTLES. But I thought it meant people with backpacks. Like the backpack was the shell so you called your viewers turtles because we had an interest in hiking, backpacking and the forest. When I started watching your videos you were doing a lot of backpack videos so it seemed to fit!

I can think of about a million far worse things to be called than turtle. There is nothing wrong with turtles. I wish I had found your channel back when you had videos more often. I will still go back and watch what you do have though. I really loved those carving videos. I would love to see more of those sometime, if you come back and make more videos one day.

One thing I've really loved about this channel were the niche reviews of certain things. For instance, when you all were reviewing Fjallraven products, you were about the only channel doing it, and doing it thoroughly. Now that Fjallraven dropped the Kanken and they're practically a company associated with fashion, and only fashion, everyone knows who they are, and everyone is reviewing their products. I felt like you guys actually took the time to look into unique and cool products, which is what drew me into the channel. It's nice to see an update! I had wondered what had happened to the channel.
