Yknow, Jotaro was fully justified in his choice to imprison himself to keep other people safe when you think about it. He was more worried about if HE was a danger to his loved ones that he isolated himself indefinitely to see if his "evil spirit" was safe to have around other people.
Despite being grouchy he's a good guy.
