IF it were me, Since the heads are being sent out I would used the impact on the heads bolts as you're not going to reuse them & the machine shop is putting on new valve springs & retainers , 2nd since you're there new cam lifters & timing chain to wake up those newly ported & polished heads.
Nice work! purple power degreaser and scotch brite pads will get all the carbon off the pistons. After wetting it down and letting it sit a bit, like 70% of it will wipe right off. A couple more rounds will get it all - spray on, wait a bit, scotch brite, wipe down with shop towels. Just make sure you spray it down with wd40 once it’s clean and change the oil after it’s all together 👍

I'm still trying to figure out what to do with my late brothers 75' Corvette stingray I inherited. It's a beautiful high gloss old school orange juice metallic clear coat but has a very lethargic L48 rated at just 165net HP. Bad year for corvettes! Poor little 350- 5.7 had very low compression in these years. I'm just a few years out from retirement age myself. Wasn't expecting to inherit it. Was in the process of getting my 70' hemi 426 superbird Plymouth roadrunner back on the road again. Both are orange cars lol 😆
I was born and raised in Michigan. I had a model of an orange 75 Corvette Stingray. I know the mid70’s cars didn’t have the performance of the early 70’s but the Big Three tried to make up for it with better body styling. It boggles my mind that a stock V-6 now, not a Turbo, comes with 300 HP! It’s hard to find parts for non-computer motors, and it’s even harder to find shops who employs anyone who knows how to work on cars from that era. Vacuum lines? Carburetors? Distributors? What in the world is a choke? Why does the car have chrome battering rams on both ends? What’s that little socket in the floorboard under the clutch pedal? High beams? Headlights are made of glass and adjust by screws? Bodies use 12 gauge sheet metal and real chrome trim? How many coats of paint?

Hi Raquel, I must have missed a video. What is the plan? Why just pull the heads. Why not pull the whole engine and put it on a stand?
Said it in video! Sending them out to get ported and polished that will take a little while .. got a lift have to put the lift up before I can pull the motor while I wait for that might as well send the heads out since it’ll take a little while!
