  • Said to be one of the most haunted placed on the Isle of Wight I could not resist taking some photographs and reading up on the areas history. Trouble is I couldn't really find much to snap! Although I photographed a few interesting angles using my Zeiss Ikon Nettar and a roll of HP5.
    *CONTACT PRINT NOTE*
    I made a test strip to find the time for the papers max black time. Normally I would do this with the negatives on top of the test strip but I sometimes use this way to save time. Please see my video on the correct way (from what I know) of making a contact sheet for Negatives/Photographs you class as important and as a proper exposure reference.

    Hey Roger, just wanted to say I really enjoy your videos. I love that you don't hide anything - you show your whole process from shooting, to developing, to printing, and you even include the things that some people would consider failures like the issue with the first few frames in this video. Keep the great videos coming.

    Talk about dejavu. I had that exact focus finder and loved it. It worked really great all those years when I did printing and always was able to focus on the grain even with the Tech Pan 25 film which had no noticeable grain. Loved that finder and it was easier to use, and handier, than other types.

    Thanks for the vid. Love your work, though not sure I like the idea of placing a drink so close to chems! :O - I have a similar nettar. I added a small braun auxiliary rangefinder to the cold shoe. Always get accurate focus that way. I always use a cable release too, when on tripod, to avoid camera shake. Being a f6.3 I need to use the slower speeds a lot, so the cable release helps. It's a standard socket on the shutter release. My Lens is sharpest at f11. I think it's a triplet. Keep up the good work.

    Back in my American Civil War re-enacting days, Kodak brought out a black and white film with the emulsion applied to color film. Printing would give you a sepia tone. I was going to use a Rollei Prego 90. I wish Kodak would bring back that film

    • @robertspeicher5047
      @robertspeicher5047 Před 2 lety

      I liked taking photos at re-enactments. Kind of like " being there" but age can suddenly cause an end to fun. I used an Olympus XA for a couple of years. I took part, as an extra, in the movie "Gettysburg". Each day , before " shooting", we had to be " weathered". Looking dirty, sweaty...While waiting a column of " rebs" were headed off to another area to shoot a scene. It was a cool, foggy morning and I took a photo of the column marchinb off. Not " seeing" the fog. When I got the pictures back, that photo just screamed " fading into the history" . The movie was filmed in the Gettysburg area. One scene was actually shot on the actual site of " Picketts charge".
      Gettysburg is known for being haunted and when the production crew sat down to view the Picketts charge scene, they used a drone....there were groups to form units. Well there was one more unit in the scene than what was planned. They didn't say anything. I plan on making a bigger copy of the fading into history photo. What OUR LEFTISTS wanting alot of America's history gone from sight. It hurts feelings.
