Hey everyone, I tried to improve the pacing of this guide quite a bit by cutting out a lot of the repetition in the items, runes and summs sections. Hopefully that makes the guide much easier to watch!

No I stopped playing pro at the end of last year
Take exhaust and probably build Crown. In the early game try keep the wave on your side but you should be able to bully her a fair amount as long as you don't go too far up in the lane. Save your E to use it defensively to help kite her out. In teamfights just make sure you aren't the first person engaged on and it should be fine.

I'm a Taliyah OTP and find the E + R combo you demonstrated impractical, but I often naturally end up doing R + E. The trick is: if you see your wall is going to knock someone up while riding it, quickly jump off before it does and lay down your E immediately and it can be fast enough to have it proc. For reference I've just uploaded a video of an example of this titled "Taliyah R + E Combo."

As a newer player that started ranked this season these insights really help. I'd have never tried taliyah with scorch without this. And damn does it make a difference. Really helps you punish melees early

What are the differences between having the minimap on the left/right side
PD: I have read and heard that you should have the minimap on the left or right side depending on your dominant eye
The dominant eye is the one with which the brain fixes the view or so I understand
Honestly no idea, I just did it on left because I was used to it from Starcraft
These vids are very helpful as a low elo player, I can play champs like azir and viktor decently well now, just want to know if vlad would ever be a champ to get a guide as I see him solo carrying most of the games I play as he seems like a good champ in low elo

Hey @Shok , great video! What's your thoughts on Rylai's Crystal Scepter? Especially when verse melee mid or multiple enemy melees. Fitting in as either your second item before Seraph's or third if ahead and the slow isn't needed as much.
Also, with the nerf to First Strike in patch 12.15 this week, has your opinion of First Strike changed?
Not really a fan of Rylais, your E and Q2 already slow so I feel it's wasted. Pretty sure first strike will still be the best.

Not really a fan of electro/dark harvest honestly, but you can do it if you really want to try snowball early game. Everfrost also just inferior imo since now hitting your EW combo isn't as important as before, and your E slows anyway.
Zed and Fizz are kinda annoying, you just have to build defensively and try keep the wave on your side so that you aren't pushed up. You'll mega outscale them both so if you don't die you'll be fine.
would be too sick to get a super quick taliyah update in the new split :)))
Mostly the same as before, still seraphs liandry imo, can possibly do blackfire liandry if you think there isn't any threat to you

I study Econ/Stats! I'm really bad at design honestly and I have someone make my thumbnails for me.
19:12 if you Flash Auto on Sylas, he survives with 3 hp because your autos deals 46 to him and with the auto traveling time, he would have regen to 49 HP.
So good decision, definetly worth it to keep your Flash.

Ucal in high elo korea builds it almost every game.
Not a fan personally since you have slow on your Q2 and E already.
Great video! Do you really think taliyah is playable in SoloQ after the nerfs ? I found it very difficult to play her in upper gold :/

The only difference is 2 seconds off your E, it shouldn't feel that different unless you play too aggressively while it's on cooldown or you just waste it all the time

Woo-hoo, Shok is finally covering my gal Taliyah! My only question relates to Taliyah's old identity compared to her modern one.
Since Taliyah is no longer a Level 1-7 Champion, is it worth going for roams anymore, or should I wait for the LC/Sorcerer's Powerspike? I've found that Taliyah is actually better in lane than before, and the changes to her passive make her feel gated to Skuttle fights.

from personal experience i think shes like every other mage, you can roam if its free but its not worth forcing super hard early
Very much situational, I talk about it my roaming video but there's a lot of things you should consider. In other words don't force it but definitely roam if it looks good!
Outside of laning matchups, what kinds of team comps does Taliyah struggle/excel against?

I'm a bit surprised you didn't mention Electrocute. Is it just not worth it on her? I've been seeming to having decent success with it but wanted to know what you thought.
Honestly not really a fan of it, it gives you better early game but Taliyah just isn't really built for that anymore imo

Why surcerores shoes are better when we are the only ap on the team ? I thought magic penetration was usefell when they were a lot of magic resist
Flat magic pen is good vs low amounts of MR, % magic pen like void staff is good against high amounts of MR. When your opponent already has a shit ton of MR reducing it by 18 with sorc shoes just isn't that valuable compared to the extra ability haste.
little question as someone not very skilled, how is kata an easy matchup? while yes you know where she is gonna land with her pasive, but her jumps are not dashes so its hard to near imposible to get stun on her bit later in the game once she can e in and e out before your w finishes its animation, do you just start shoving waves into her and make sure she cant ingage on you or what?
You have a lot of sustained damage so it's sort of hard for her to chase you down. In this matchup you can go exhaust and even Crown if you want and she's going to have a very hard time playing teamfights against you. In the early game you can bully pretty hard 1v1 just try not to get pushed too far up in the lane.

Ranged creeps if you need more waveclear, cannon creep if you want to roam immediately

You don't really need it for the slow anymore since hitting your W is less important and you already have your E slow, if you just need the HP you can go Crown instead.

So how does taliyah fair against heimerdinger? I hate that champion and dont have a counter for him, thought taliyah might be ok bc of her Q and E

why do you start e against ranged champs?
You can start Q, but E allows you to start getting first strike from level 1 and it gives decent push as well

I'd suggest slowing the pacing of the video down a touch. Because of the snappy editing you were flowing into point after point with no room to breathe and let things sink in.

As I said literally in the intro the nerfs are not a big deal, she will still be very strong as she's currently OP
