Wow so many new restaurants now.we were there our first trip 25 years ago. We had Bali coffee with condensed milk 😅. Very limited food available then to. Not sure why weve never been back maybe next time. Thanks for showing us around.

It is changing sooo much! The only time I was there (and I’m yr parents age 😂) was to do the 4hr bike trip from the top, it’s absolutely fabulous and recommend it to everyone, so much to see on the way down 🚴♀️☕️🌴

I remember Kintamani from late 80’s. Tourist trap restaurant 😂😂😂😂 there was no escape.

Recently visited Bali for an amazing 10 nights. Love this place.
The 10 sentences video you made, was an absolute game changer as far as interacting with the balinese. People smiled everytime and seemed even more friendly and loved that we tried to learn their language.

Hello Damian & Winny! Bali is becoming completely overdeveloped. Did you see any tourists hiking or Balinese praying on the mountains? If it hadn't been 4 Peter & Made of Made's wrung in Kuta, i would have never gotten out of there, as I didn't have $ to cross the lake after being robbed. Beautiful scenery, cool weather but beware of pushy & aggressive types in villages!

Pushy sellers remind me of being in Sapa in Northern Vietnam. Something I never wish to go through again. We had lunch in that old tourist trap in 2016. Drivers took everyone to one place, they got a free lunch and maybe more and then we continued on with our tour. No choices back then.
Haven’t been up to Kintamani since about 2012. It’s certainly changed a bit. First time was in early 90’s and remember being chased back to our mini bus with the very persistent sellers. Who would’ve thought all those years ago that it would be a place for fancy cafes now. 😊

UNFORTUNATELY this will be the trend now with every redevelopment of any tourist area, they will start to look the same.
I dont have an issue with development......but not to completely strip all the character and the ATMOSPHERE of an area...
The local small Balinese family businesses cant compete with these big companies/ investors and will lose thier business. And as more and more locals leave or are pushed out, all the Charm and Atmosphere will be lost....and the tourists that come will never know what was lost.
Thanks again for showing what is happening in all these areas....I find it to be very sad and a reflection of the rampant greed that is happening where ever there is money to be made.....😠😡🤬

That's a longggg way to ride the scooter to!!! How long did it take? When I first visited this area in 2004 there were only a few places to eat at along that road overlooking Mount Batur ...it's changed so much 😮
It is change a lot and is pretty long journey enough for back pain
Wow. I find it hard to believe. Yes it WAS a Tourist Trap. Terrible food and such pushy hawkers. And I think 2 restaurants. Our friend Wayan really did not want to take us here. Of cause in those days we made allowances for them as it was not visited by many and they did not have much and my guess is that they still do not have much. Hopefully they will be able to earn from the tourism. Too much reliance on tourism. How I wish I knew what the answer is.

Thank you for your video. After hearing Queen Monkey Starbucks, I agree, if you need to go to Starbucks Bali is the wrong place them. I remember Bali 1988 going there, all you can eat, looking over the mountains I will be nice some times change is not good it spoils it😢😢😢
