Awesome! Thank you
Love your ability to demonstrate how those tedious basic things we practice can be implemented in our phrasing. Your enthusiasm and cheerful demeanor make me want to watch more of your videos and also get back to practicing more.

I'm just getting into your approach, which seems accessible and refreshing, so i'm running with you on this.
Love this. Just started to be able to start from the 7th degree after listening to Louis Armstrong and Charlie and it’s soooo beautiful. THANK YOU.
Hi Tru,
That was a great lesson and you are a natural teacher of the saxophone, I love your playing aswell, nice tone, I'm going to work with the metronome and use different Rythms and also try and do the same in different keys,

I'm with you (I'm a Bass player, and tho I love my gift, I don't like practicing all the time, while, at the same time, I do love practicing
Well taught. I used to hate practice on a whole when my technique was terrible. Needless to say, above all work on your technique whereby your playing seems easy. Now I enjoy playing the trombone every single day.
Hello Tru, Your voice, your beautiful smile ...all so soothing together with your teaching scales for saxophone. It was my great dream, and is still.

Thank you!
you’re welcome!
You are very nice thank you
Thank you for this information
She is so pretty 😎
Thank you for this cool video. As a classical violinist for me scales are essential. One of my teachers said the scales are the basic of technique. And since a couple of years I also do some studies in jazzviolin. Until now nothing outstanding but I learned a lot and iI got very cool ideas to improve my technical abilities. But the idea to improvise on one scale with different rhythms and with random notes I just got by watching this video. I will try it out tomorrow right away. Thanks again and always good luck.
I’m glad you could get something for this!! :)
@@truofcl oh yes definitively. As classical trained musician it is in general not easy to improvise especially jazz, at least when you are born in Germany in an absolutely nonjazz family. For my parents jazz was a musical nogo area. So it was not easy to do the first steps. So I@m hrateful to get ideas how to improve.
Good job
You´re à very good teacher
An incredible lady with such a natural beauty and sensuality and so talented musically playing this wonderful and beautiful instrument. I'm a keyboardist but... I'd love and wouldn't mind learning to play saxofone with an outstanding teacher like you!!.
Congratulations for your remarkable performance and knowledge of this instrument and I wish you a succesful life in all aspects👏👏👏👏❤🥂.
I suscríbed to your channel, of course!!
much love, thank you!
Thank you so much ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
you’re welcome!
Can you tell me how to do the growel technique?
Thanks I really learnt alot😊
It is interesting that no one is yet to pickup up the type at time start 3:42 where you released the "E D" to "D E", which should confuse you audiense somewhat, and prompt for some clarification/correction. You however get it right at 3:52, but for credibility and accuracy reasons would recommended correction the typo at 3:42. Either way great effort and thanks for sharing your knowledge.
😊
Thanks l learnt something new....about the minor scale from the major scale on the sixth.Major scales are minor scales. Thanks a lot
There's different scale or mode for each step of the major scale. Major: Ionian, Dorian, Phrygian, Lydian, Mixolydian, Minor: Aeolian, and Locrian. it's all relative. If you know the circle of fifths in major, you know it in 6 other keys.
Great video! Where can I find these absolutely cool backing tracks?
I’m not sure which exact track I used but I typically go to CZcams and search in “Backing track in __ major concert” and put the concert pitch and some tracks show up! Also, for one chord tracks, you can just search backing track in ___ major concert one chord and you should see some.
Thanks!!
Your work please I like it am gonna do this
Lovely....I really don't like brass but am falling with your explanation thanks..I would love to feature you.... Please 🙏🙏
You’re so beautiful ❤️
Great.. I love the breakdown.
Well done ma'am
Do you have room for one on one training or class?
When you play by running up and down the scale as in your first example, do you pay any attention to landing on chord tones on the downbeats, or not?
Yes, definitely!! The resolution is always important in the phrases you make with your scales :) but also sometimes it’s cool to land somewhere random as well. Overall, I tend not to overthink and just let my hands go.
Hi, I'm just getting started with saxophone 🎷, your content is cool & comprehensive. Can i train from you?
Sure! Send me an email at truthesaxophonist@gmail.com
Should I trade my guitar in for a sax. At this point I’ve learned a lot about my fret board but after listening to Charlie Parker and transcribing blues for Alice on guitar I can help but want to feel it on a sax. SHOULD I DO IT
Ooo!! Tough decision. I say go with your gut :) If you have a little extra budget then my suggestion would be to keep the guitar and save up for a sax so that you have both instruments.
3/10- outstanding thank you, ima practice this approach, your explanation was clear and concise 👍🏾🙏🏾
What Brand & Number Mouthpiece & Reed are u using? Great tone
A SYOS Steady mouthpiece, size 7 tip opening. It’s a 3D printed mouthpiece. My reed is a vandoren jazz 2 1/2 reed.
you can find syos mouthpieces at www.syos.co !
Practicing... You've come so far, can I b ur disciple ?
You have said it correctly scales are helpful but no one will want to exercise with it. My question now is how many minutes or hour do u recommend a good saxophone student to practice or exercise on daily basis?????
I’d say 30 minutes-1 hour per day is good!
Do you have any Trumpet Teachers because this is fire but I don't play saxophone yet
I don’t! But if I hear of one I’ll definitely try to recommend someone 💯
Hi my dear. How are you. Would you come to St Mary’s school and play some songs for my 2nd graders? They are amazing kids
would love that!
🦁🌹 🌹 🦁 I am just a beginner, how do I finger the scales? Do you have lessons for beginners please 🙏
You could search up saxophone fingering chart for ___ major scale and find some charts online! I don’t have any videos yet for beginners, but I’ll try to look into making some 👌🏾
Is your backing track an app?
No, just CZcams!
How can i download the backing track???🙏🙏
I don’t remember which track I used but all I do is search “backing track in the key of ___ concert major, one chord” on to youtube and some tracks come up.
Plz can I learn to play the sax
Olá boa noite
Qual seu set UP
My alto is a selmer super action 80 series 2. My reed is a vandoren zz size 2 1/2. Mouthpiece is a syos steady mouthpiece from www.syos.co and my ligature is a random metal ligature that was given to me. I don’t think it has a brand to it.
Estou precisando de uma boquilha sax alto me doa uma ai
I listen to you in the opening of NBA you were great you play the sax like a toy in your hand
I try to follow you when you are playing gospels but I am far from your level

major is one of the minor scales...
I'm falling in love with with you
Very comprehensive teaching. Good job well done ma. Ride on Sister
I like too came join me i got digital piano
Major scales are not minor scales ,It's better you treat different modes in a major scale..The mood is not the same.
I guess she wanted to explain the relative major-minor concept
Obviously they’re different scales but thinking about it this way simplifies things a lot, makes you overthink the change in key signatures too. Modes are definitely a cool topic, I may have to make a video specifically on modes 👌🏾 that would be cool.
She does start off by saying to learn every major scale. Having said that, a (natural) minor scale shares both the same eight notes and key signature as its relative major scale (barring any accidentals, of course)- just arranged in a different order. However, any musician or theorist knows that neither are one in the same in regards to modes.
I hope you know that modes and the diatonic scale are two different things.
Yeah... u're right in terms of Expression and feels but she's right in terms of Relatives.
You could have a proper improvisation if you were using a random chords on your track in order to have a better harmony and you had use rhythm instead. . . For me it didn't sound too good.
Dont waste your time on learning scales to improvisation. Dynamics is more important
I just started improvising and I thought something like that, but I can't argue why. could you tell me?
@@anaisdominguez7818 chords and dynamics are more important than scale
Dynamics are definitely important! The beautiful thing about improvisation is there are so many things you can implement into a solo to make it great. Dynamics and phrasing are definitely great things to implement into your solos 👌🏾
Muito trivial,sem conteúdo....
What! You're "she/they"?😳
