We're not a Parliamentarian government. We're a Republic with two acrimonious political parties. DT won't cause a totalitarian state, nor would he try. We need to slam on the economic brakes and start de-funding many programs, get the illegal immigrant issue resolved stop being the world's policeman, and prosecute the anti-Constitutional violation offenses. The great challenges our government is facing is our taxpayers are done with paying taxes without representation or our needs and security issues aren't being meet, the first cut we need to bring to the table is military spending and foreign aid,and why is it always the taxpayers that have too tighten their belts
You know we ultimately make money from Military Sales (aka "aide"), right? Trust me, for every dollar we give away, we make 50 in spares, repairs, support, training, ammo, upgrades and residual maintenance contracts, plus we keep jobs here and our allies in line. Think of it as giving away the $200 printer to sell ink at 1000% profit for a decade.
If you look at the US spending, it's 1/3 Military, 1/3 Social Net and 1/3 everything else. But the Military is partially offset by non-tax revenues, and the 1/3 everything else are services that keep our machine oiled, tuned up and running. Find a way to reduce social spending and not hurt anyone and I'll vote for you for Prez.
