U can take out the case and throw it in a bucket of tempera or smth like that(or paint it manually) then wait for it to dry and put it back on the phobe

Pro tip: use sandpaper to smooth out the case and make it look less like a complex organ.

I would not do this bc if your phone gets hot from being on it or it sitting in the sun the glue would melt and ruin the phone

Hot glue has to be EXTREMELY hot to melt. If it does start to get a bit sticky just take it off for a second. But I would say you're fine.
No, it doesn't melt. You have to put the phone on the oven to melt the hot glue! Don't be afraid to try it. Thanks for your comment man! ;)
