- Watch the turbulent landing of a Turkish Airlines flight at Heathrow airport amidst flight cancellations and "danger to life" warnings during Storm Isha on Saturday, January 21.
Big Jet TV captured the moment the plane veered to the left just meters before landing.
The entire UK received two rare amber alerts, with Northern Ireland and Scotland facing a tornado warning.
Scotland Rail canceled all trains from 7 pm tonight, potentially extending into Monday morning.
Heathrow experienced numerous flight cancellations due to air traffic control implementing "flow restrictions," spacing incoming aircraft further apart.

Almost half of Turkish Airlines pilots are retired fighter pilots, and it looks like a pretty good landing.
Thanks for the professionalism of the pilots
The pilots that matched the weather conditions and got her down near textbook worthy. One man screams and a rag then deliberately turns into something that isn't there. This 👆 is nothing but clickbait and aviation amateurs/enthusiasts surely seen this crap attempt from a rag to try find a story - where there wasn't. "aviation enthusiast and camera hobbyist, now social media name, screams at plane landing in high winds" would've been more precise.

I arrived into Heathrow on a Turkish Airlines flight yesterday (day of this video). The most turbulence I’ve ever felt on a landing by far. Plane was being pushed from side to side by the wind even as we approached the runway. Pilot did well in the end, not sure if it was the flight in this video. Phew
What were the passengers like during the landing? I've been on a few turbulent planes and everyone seems to go quiet 😅

Most of Turkish Airlanes pilots are veteran F-16 pilots who retired from Turkish army ,i always choose Turkish Airlanes because of this reason

Turkish Airline pilots are one of a kind! It may feel scary in the cabin but good on the pilots for landing in those conditions. They had full control of the plane at all times
Apart from autopilot. Or when the wind blew the plane out of direction they intended.. 😂
These are autopilot landings when the weather is this severe. Autopilot can assess sudden changes and correct course infinitely faster than any human can, and it doesn't matter whether s/he works for Turkish Airlines or not, it's the aircraft software that counts.

@@tentaklaus9382 auto land is used in low visibility conditions and fog. It is not suitable for strong winds. Pilots will have better control of the plane and have better intuition, which ofc only humans have, autopilot is just algorithms to assist

Terrifying landing? Where? One fella screaming shouldn't be the "terrifying" measure. That aircraft landed great by meeting the weather conditions. Might been bit heavy on L gear but, dipped into wind, that was one of the better landings yesterday. Such false sensationalism can end up having a nervous flyer more terrified by your ill-informed caption/headline. I grasp you need milk the partnership with specific streamers but there was far worse caught on camera yesterday - even by your contractor.

We were on Saudia Dreamliner earlier today approximately 13:50 touched down in Heathrow and boy it was the most intense and terrifying landing out of my 83rd flight of my life.

While I find his commentary funny sometimes, I gather he’s not even close to being a certified pilot. Just someone who found a way to make money off of filming landing planes in storms. And bravo to you sir! But that was a classic crosswind landing, touching down on the upwind main landing gear first after aligning the fuselage with the runway. Ask me how I know…
