Excellent band!! Crime of The Century in 1974 was a great album. Huge #1 album here in Canada. Crisis What Crisis? Also a fantastic album and Even In The Quietest Moments - another #1 album here in 🇨🇦. Finally with Breakfast In America the rest of the world woke up and discovered how great they were and they took it to #1. ❤
Went to see them in Montreal back in the Crime of the Century days. Best concert I've been to. Crowd was amazing, apparently they were in tears afterwards.
"The Logical Song" was a huge hit for Supertramp back when I was in eighth grade. It was the lead single from their album "Breakfast in America", which also featured the singles "Breakfast in America", "Take The Long Way Home", and "Goodbye Stranger". I suspect "The Logical Song" plays a large part in my great appreciation for saxophone solos because that's a humdinger of a sax solo for a pop song. It was one of the last 45 rpm singles I bought before I started buying long playing albums. Good stuff!

The band Supertramp doesn't exist anymore but Roger Hodgson still performs with new musicians. I saw them a few years ago and Roger still rocks! Singing and playing like in his best days and he has such a warm and gentile soul too!
They had a ton of great songs and hits. For another banger, check out Bloody Well Right from their Crime of the Century album.

The saxophonist John Helliwell is from my home town, and still visits from time to time.
I love this song, loved it when it came out and when came on radio turned it up, bought it as soon as released thier music is so good, and love meaning of song about thinking for self and keeping magic and hope in your life. , its a great song and love the play on words and the music in the song , great group and song

I think Paul McCarney said this was one of his favorite songs. It is kind of Beatles-esque with all the studio work. Even (maybe?) a Please Please Me reference at the end - "One, two, three, Fah!"

What Crisis?, Even In The Quietest Moments, and Breakfast In America, where this song is from. If you haven't already reacted to "School" or "Bloody Well Right" those would be excellent places to start!

Supertramp were an awesome group with a great front singer in Roger Hodgson with a great voice. He still performs last I knew at the age of 73 to me it wouldn't be Supertramp without him. Great song from an amazing group. My brother that was 2 years older than me got me hooked on them when we were teenagers. RIP big brother.
