George C Scott is my favorite actor. He is simple mesmerizing as an actor. He’s the type of guy that is intimidating even when he doesn’t mean to be. That’s why people love this guy. I can’t think of an actor today that has that raw charisma. Back in the day, I would say Clark Gable or Bogie but I honestly can’t think of one today. I would say Clint Eastwood but he’s not really a leading man today, he’s great but Clint is old school from the late 60’s and 70’s & 80’s.
There are no actors coming up through the ranks to compare to the likes of George C Scott or for example Charles Bronson and Ernest Borgnine.Tremendous talents with Huge screen presence who are sadly missed. Thanks for posting.
Scott reunited with his "Patton" director, Franklin Schaffner, to do "Islands in the Stream." He gave. Quiet, introspective, and subtle performance. You set those two films next to each other and that defines "range," for both Scott and Schaffner. Both films were scored by Jerry Goldsmith - more range.
Rod Steiger turned down the role of Patton and George wins the Best Actor Oscar and George turned down the lead role in ' Heat of the Night" and Steiger takes the role and wins Best Actor Oscar . Call it Karma or Fate but WOW !
GEORGE c.SCOTT-- the movies with GSC in them are always interesting and intense-like the man himself.
George C. Scott sounds like my kinda guy.
George would have beat the crap out of you, he was married 5 times and beat them all. He had a vile drinking problem but he never let his drinking interfere with his acting. Great Actor.
GSC rode the fine line between intensity and over-acting with aplomb. had a fine comedy touch with is sadly lacking in todays actors guild
He was fucking great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He was a loving grandpa too.
Loved GCS. Always. Hope he's in paradise now... deserved.
Greg Jarrett tho.
GAAAAAH.
