I'm pretty handy with desktop pcs, but no idea when it comes to laptops. This really helped me - I would have been scared to pull the tab up to change the battery without seeing this
Glad it helped. If you haven't already, please like and subscribe so others can find my videos and possibly consider watching a few others to get the algorithm to recommend my channel. Thanks!
@@ItsBinhRepairedWhat type HDD is in this model? It didn't look like a normal HDD 2.5" SDD. I just bought this model and bought a Samsung EVO SSD :(

Isopropyl/rubbing alcohol helps with cleaning corrosion off with a toothbrush. For pins/traces that are oxidized, you can rub them with a pencil eraser to shine them back up.
Vinegar works even better
@@ItsBinhRepaired Vinegar is acidic, and doesn't evaporate quickly. I'm not sure why you would use that on a circuit board, but to each their own.
@xb0xisbetter isopropyl alcohol doesn't remove corrosion, but it helps clean up grease and other polar and non polar substances.
@@ItsBinhRepaired I worked in a school district for 7 years cleaning all manner of disturbing things off of student laptops since I was basically the only one working on them for the whole district most of that time. They have 6 buildings and were 1:1 all of the way to 2nd grade, kindergarten during emergency situations at the height of the pandemic. We're talking thousands of devices, about 1,400 at the high school alone. I've used rubbing alcohol to remove corrosion countless hundreds of times.
Rubbing alcohol with a toothbrush will literally remove every single trace of corrosion beyond totally burned traces, and can even get it out of badly corroded pins inside of ribbon cable connectors. It removes it well enough that I've been able to send dozens of those systems I was unable to revive in to Dell or Lenovo for warranty repair because they couldn't tell any liquid had ever been present.
I'm trying to be respectful here. I didn't even comment on most of the questionable things I saw in this video. I just offered a tip that I know works, from a lot of experience.
I've tried cleaning corrosion with isopropyl alcohol on some devices and where it fails, vinegar does the job. You do need to dry and rinse the residue afterwards with isopropyl alcohol though.
Hi. while trying to get out the battery with a screwdriver, I seem to damage one of the screw ie can't rotate the screw anymore ( the inner part of screw is corroded ). Any idea how I can pull that screw out ? Thanks
You stripped the screw?
@@ItsBinhRepaired Yeah, while trying to unscrew with a screw driver. :(
@@shekcbanny you'll need a screw extractor in that case sadly
thx ben

Hi I found your video very helpful , would be so kind and show a video where the pswd is located. Thanks
What pswd?
. Thanks for responding! Its inside the motherboard you posted on this video. PSWD is password jumper pin.
It has one?
Thanks man for pulling the latitude 7390 back off and showing me the parts. I was running into the blue screen (of death) sad face and upon auto-reboot, it'd say hard drive not installed among a few other things when I ran diagnostics check. Definitely reaching the end of its life expectancy perhaps. However reseating the DRAM, SSD, and battery, seemed to allow the cpu to boot up and I could login to my profile. Immediately created an image on an external hard drive, also made a restore point on the cpu.
I have a question though, would replacing the SSD make any difference? Or do you think it's just the connection from motherboard to SSD that just needed to be re-established?
Either way, I will probably upgrade the ram and get a new battery, just wonder whether it'd be worthy to change out the SSD chip.
Thanks,
Alan
Was the SSD visibly loose?
I removed the laptop's hard drive/ssd as you said, took it out blowed it a bit to see make sure it's clean n put it back, also it doesn't look like it's fried, it's still showing 'hard drive not installed, pls tell me what's the problem also my hard drive's black color not green like yours !??
It's not chicken. You wouldn't see a crispy crust if it's fried. You'd have to connect it to another computer with a usb adapter or use software to test it. You'll likely have to replace the drive and install windows from scratch.
@@ItsBinhRepaired aaah shit looks like I gotta do some spending, anyways thanks

One question. Why the bios detects 2 slots of ram but there only one?
It will say whatever it wants
hi! I have this laptop model 7390 with a broken Thunderbolt C port. I wanted to know if it is possible to change it? A thousand thanks
Only if you can micro solder
@@ItsBinhRepaired Thank you so much for your kind reply. so are they soldered onto the motherboard? I wanted to understand is this a procedure that I can do with a soldering iron? I wanted to understand, I saw that the two Thunderbolt ports seem to be a single block, I should only change one, can I change the single port or are they attached and do I have to replace them both?
@@Alexander88jkd not sure. I haven't done it before.
Am I correct in thinking that 16 GB of RAM is the maximum? I was wondering if it could be bumped up to 32 GB.
If you can get a stick with the same specs yes.
this one is Dell Latitude 7390 Ultrabook touch screen version?
Not sure. Check if yours looks the same.
My laptop on light stay on for 2 to 3 sec and the back turned off ? I tried clearing ram and SSD too, same model
Sounds like motherboard issue
@@ItsBinhRepaired also laptop turns off
:(
I have 7390 2 in 1
Can use ssd NVME support?
If I didn't mention it in the video, then probably not. I don't remember.
Sir you can send me the pic of ssd disque? Ssd the dell latitude 7390

Where did you take out hard drive from, where is it, you just showed hard drive in the video not taking or putting it in laptop , PLS TELL ME WHERE IS IT
It's showing that hard drive not installed in the laptop
It's the chip on the bottom right, the SSD.

i have a issue with the Same machine ,cant press the power button directly , need to connect the adaptor after 10 to 15 mnts will showing indication in laptop then only Power Button Can use , what will be the ISsue any idea
Sounds like battery is dead?
@@ItsBinhRepaired battery health is Excellent
@@nimithanazar4678 Doesnt mean its a bad battery. Much like people who claim they used an Iphone everyday for two years and still have 100% battery health, it is either either malfunctioning BMS or software.
Battery holds a good charge?
hi, I bought a 16gb ddr4 bank of ram 2666mhz instead of 2400mhz, will it work the same?
You'll have to try it and find out. I don't know.
@@ItsBinhRepaired I will also find out for 60w F3YGT compatible battery. A black Monday awaits me ,lol
@@massimobernardo- lol good luck!
Nice video. Was this one intel core i7 8gen?
If it's not in the video, I don't know.
Is this the 2 in 1 variant?
Nope
what do I need to do if I want to disconnect the keyboard
Flip the latch and pull the cable out.
@@ItsBinhRepaired the black on us the backlight cable and there are 3 more cable other than the black one big on the right and two small on the left so should I pull all of them
@@TheRandomvgshow the keyboard one. Watch the video. It'll tell you.
what’s the maximum ram size?
As far as I know, there is no max other than what you can buy.
think you can put a 32 GB in later models of 7390
If it fits, yes.
You did open it, and no dust cleaning of cooler...neeeee.!!!
Hm?
Does it have 2 slots of its RAM?
I didn't know so many people had problems with numbers. This video will help. czcams.com/video/eHaJZxWSCUc/video.html lol
@@ItsBinhRepaired hahaha funny! But when I checked over the task manager-memory performance it says the slots used is 1 of 2.
It's a lie, the other slot is imaginary. Here's how you can find out. You can search for the motherboard of the model like this. www.ebay.com/itm/GENUINE-DELL-LATITUDE-7390-MOTHERBOARD-i7-8650U-QUAD-CORE-MXW44-0MXW44-TESTED-/255185172135?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0 you can see there's no second slot anywhere on the motherboard.
@@jazels1070 I'm not sure why the software shows 2 slots, but apparently it's the norm. I don't trust the software. Lazy coding.
the computer comes with 16gb, the ram stick is 16gb so it’s single channel
