"This is to me, is a sort of figurative piece. It has the lines of a counter-postal pose. The disks are like the halo's, the coins. When my wife said about my optimism, it's something that the lower circles are smaller in different sizes and they increase in size as they rise up, and show that in this particular piece with water, it is about gravity, about water falling and about the work trying to fight gravity at the same time."

DE NIRO AND STREEP ATTEND "FAMILY" ART SHOW
An exclusive gathering from the art world met on Monday at Rome's Gallery Benucci, which offered an intimate glimpse into the families of actors Robert De Niro and Meryl Streep.
The two stars are related to artists, and were in the Italian capital to display the work of De Niro's father and Streep's husband.
Paintings by Robert De Niro Senior (1922-1993) and the sculptures of Don Gummer were on view.
A large baroque canopied bed set the stage for the news conference.
The Roman Benucci gallery, which is showing the De Niro works, usually hosts a mix of Baroque and contemporary art.
The actors sat together with the Roman gallery owner Ida Benucci and New York gallery owner Lawrence Salander.
De Niro, who has said that Meryl Streep was his favourite actress with whom to work, said his father had "great taste."
Robert De Niro Senior was born in Syracuse, New York to an Irish mother and Italian father.

It is very beautiful and moving what Meryl says about her husband and his work. Too bad not to see his reaction.
