I have the same bag in black and due to the texture I find this bag as one of my most durable. I don’t need to baby it like my other bags. I certainly would not buy it in the lighter colors. Have had mine for a few years now and love it. I did spray a layer of leather protectant. Only regret I have is that I didn’t buy it with the silver hardware instead of the rustic gold.
I think the leather rubbing is definitely only an issue with the light colored one or a manufacturing issue. I have the same bag in black with gunmetal silver hardware and have none of the issues you've experienced (including the tarnishing).

I was so sad to see this video. I have a few videos on this bag on my CZcams channel. My YSL medium college bag in the opium red is one of my favorites. The only wear and tear I have on mine is on the inside of the back pocket from me putting my phone in it. I feel like the cross body strap is short and I'm only 5'6. I am thicker then you so that might be why. I do agree that it's a small bag not a medium bag.
I tried to get into YSL and it just wasn’t a wow factor for me… the purse nor the cardholder… it just felt flimsy and not substantial. Also I’ve seen several accounts talking about the leather and the metal on the bag..they are pretty …I will give them that but as a purse that will withstand the test of time… I don’t see that happening

At that point I really stopped caring what people's opinions were, people will always have their opinions based on how you look. After this I shopped in LYXBAG . If you drive a Bentley and get out of the car with a fake Hermès, no one will question you.
You’re still within warranty…maybe see what they can do for you and then sell it? And also, I agree YSL and Chanel are like comparing apples to oranges…there’s no comparison.
Ma’am, you saved me so much money with this review. I think it might be time for you to cut your losses and sell this one. I’m sorry that it doesn’t fit your lifestyle and that the quality isn’t there.
Sorry for your issues! I have two medium college bags. The grey khaki with gold hardware and the black suede with fringe and silver hardware. I have two because I absolutely love the look and style!! My leather is holding up well but of course the suede one is higher maintenance. My hardware is not tarnished at all on either but I will say the logo hardware does scratch pretty easily. My gray one has quite a few scratches on the logo (not noticeable unless you closely inspect) which made me super careful with the second one I got - which I carry a ton and has no scratches yet. Yes, it’s small but it taught me to be more of a minimalist! Overall for me, no regrets at all!
Wow! It might be with the light colour. I have this in black leather and the dark hardware and I have not experienced any of these. I think you should take it back, if you're within warranty.

I'm sorry about your bag. I have the YSL Nikki Bag in the black Medium crinkled leather. It is beautiful edgy and I used it loads, took it on holiday , loved it to bits. It lasted one season. It got terrible, terrible corner wear, never seen before or after. It's also put me off YSL and I have 4 other YSL bags.
I got the black YSL grain de Poudre clutch I love it so much I brought YSL monogram quilted envelope clutch in cream white the leather is not the same doesn't feel as Lux it's was too stiff doesn't feel as soft maybe they have to use that type of leather to make all the chervon design...I was thinking about returning it but it looks so good in pictures so I kept it.
I have this bag in dark beige and ysl puffer in blanc vintage and have the same issue with corner. Love love ysl but defnitely thinking light colors are not agging well at all

I sure hope I don’t experience any tarnishing problem EVER! At this price range, this shuld not be happening! So sorry to hear this. I guess I need to at least check the warranty policy now in case it happens later BUT IM NOT CLAIMING IT!😃
U shouldn't have issues with your black one. My black one is wearing much better than hers. Don't know about the hardware though since yours is also gold. Mine has the gunmetal hardware and no rust etc
I've heard the darker bags don't have any many issues as the light bags, also my bag has the antique gold hardware so the gold might wear better. Let me know how you get on xx

I have a classic Chanel bag that is lamb skin and color transfers with dark denim and scratches easily.
As a ysl lover, not all their bags are good. Most are terrible . The mini lou is the strongest I have seen.
