"...Cause my mother and brother and father are from the Motherland of another land called Jamaica/Some of them say God, some of them say Jah is the Maker.." 🥶 🥶
I really wish rappers today would learn from him instead of using all that profanity. His lyrics aren't offensive. Young kids today can listen to his music without learning how to cuss. Young kids can sing his songs and rap without getting in trouble with their parents. I love his music. And I'm an old head.
Had to pull up my Special Ed collection on itunes a few weeks ago. Like others have mentioned, Ed was ahead of his time. His lyrics would destroy 9 out of 10 "MCs" today. He is definitely one of the most slept on.

I'm traveling back in time to Tower Records in 1990. I'm paying $2.50 to $2.99 for cassette singles. I believe I bought this single as well as Chub Rock's Treat Em' Right in the same transaction. Nostalgia.

These kids will never understand the way real rap felt. There was a feeling that I can't describe when this song rocked through the streets of East New York.
"In Living Color" Season 2, Episode 15. SW1 spins this during the Fly Girls dancing, before they go into commercial break. I have just spent all morning looking for this song. I saw the episode on tv this morning 5/21/22, and came to the internet to try and find it. Except all the episodes of In Living Color online replace all the original licensed music with some generic track! I started freaking out, thinking I'd never find what this song was. There are NO LISTS anywhere online of the licensed tracks that originally aired. Thankfully, some kind soul uploaded a VHS copy of the original show to youtube, and I found it somehow. I watched the end credits, and there it was, Special Ed- Come On, Let's Move It. I really wish there was a database online that listed all the original tracks they used. This music will be forgotten otherwise.
Yup still listening to this in 2021 one of my favorite old school jam’s I use to dance to in the Club back in my Day let’s get it it who still listening to this in 2021
Yo I still get the chills in 2019 when I watch this.....I’m proud to have grown up in the freshest era of hip hop....the beats, the dancin, scratchin in the chorus...so dope!! Idk how that hip “pop” shit is on top right now and don’t know how heads that came up on this dont remember...smmfh
While he was on the scene he was always considered a bit of a lightweight. So he didn't get a heap of respect. Compared to today's garbage, of course, he sounds like solid gold.
This beat was fire. Howie T was one of the best hip-hop produces from this era, special ed and chub rock, his beats were fire

Exactly. Not all that gyrating and nastiness. I wish those dance moves came back. You can't use his dance moves to today's songs. so sad. 😔
How funky is this beat.
