There's actually 2 no hit achievements - for the first and the second parts of this fight.
This would've been an easy task if it wasn't for the RNG parts. All attacks are predetermined, except for the one, which appears 3 times in the part 2 - at the beginning, in the middle and at the very end. I have no problem dodging all the fixed attacks - once you memorize the pattern it's all easy-peasy. But you can't learn the random attack and it can really screw you over. Standing in the middle of 4 tiles helps, but you still need to be lucky. Sometimes the fire appears all around you at the same time. The delay before the lit tile spawns fire is also different. It might take a whole second or it will start burning almost immediately.
*When I was making this video, only 0.1% of the players had that achievement unlocked. Now the number is a bit higher and I like to think it might be thanks to me.

that achievement is like the virtual equivalent of surviving a horrible experience and only getting a t-shirt
but this time the shirt is digital, so its practically useless.

Judging from his high standards, if even he calls it the worst achievement in the game, it really should be.
worst is definitely the wrong word. hardest, sure, but why is it bad that doing this super hard secret optional challenge gives you an achievement? because it makes it harder to get 100%? I thought the people who cared about achievements were doing it to show their mastery, but if they get upset whenever getting an achievement is an actual achievement, lol

@@IEatYourSandwiches Have you actually played the game? The problem here is there's a long ass cut-scene and a hard reset on the game EVERY TIME you fail this.
Each attempt at doing hitless is going to be 10 minutes long with a LONG portion of it being nothing (which means your hands will go cold from lack of motion if you don't just fiddle randomly). As much as people like all the cool flashy stuff, the hardest part in being consistent with games so you can speedrun or challenge run them is getting bored on the slow, awful parts.
This part is super long, has awful hit detection, and controls nothing like the rest of the game. There was NO NEED to make an achievement for not getting hit. Merely clearing it was fine.
@@DairunCates there's a way to avoid the cutscenes iirc, it's not nearly as bad as you say it is. Just reset once you get hit in it by pausing the game
I have had to try this achievement probably well over 200 times or something, but it wasn't a soul-torturing experience

This would be actually reasonable if the warning was actually existent for most of the fight
its to indicate most random parts that come with no real paddern in mind, you will notice that if there is a paddern the warning indicator gets removed to allow more difficulty, and add the indicator in the paddernless ones so it is easier as nobody knows the paddern in that senario
@@fall2zero I'm not saying it is impossible the way the indicators are currently, but a little extra warning would be very useful and make the experience much more fun
@@corb805 i have not played but isnt thw point of the incinerator to die? Making it easier would ruin the point that the game makers were saying. And making it a one off kill would not be as fun so they substituted for a really hard impossible to first try arena

The issue with going for this achievement is that you can't just restart the battle on the fly like you could a normal fight and force quitting forces you to watch the cutscene again.
better than starting from scratch over and over
watching cutscenes in speedrunning is a common thing. and this one isnt even that long

I've only played the demo, so this might be different now, but i straight up thought the only way to get through the incinerator scene was to die so i would just throw myself immediately into the fire each time i played

It might not look like it, but this is the hardest no-hit fight in the game.
Full vid of all no-hit fights will probably be up in a few days/a week. I'm almost done with the game, but there's still a bunch of difficult fights left and I'm also going to play 2 other games in the meantime.

When I watched this and the bosses video on this game before I got it, I didn't really think much of these accomplishments, since it *looked* simple enough and was a matter of memorizing patterns and stuff. That's what I thought atleast. After actually playing the game and having completed it multiple times, I've realized what godly efforts these have most likely taken to make, and not only did you beat the bosses on expert without taking a hit, but you've also allowed their songs to play fully. Now you pulled this off, while I didn't even have enough patience to beat the incinerator normally. You'll forever remain a true pro in my eyes, and you're also the reason I even know about these awesome games. Never once regretted subscribing to you :)

And the first song is called "Seeing Red". I definitely don't think it's just a coincidence, they knew exactly how the players would feel attempting this :D

Red is just a doll that Orange Mage made as a physical body for Pink. So, essentially, pink is the character you play as in Everhood.

Even if that part is like 50 different combinations you can still call it RNG and it would make no difference.
@@Gellot Ah, I mean it should be the exact same thing every time, it may have changed in an update though and if so I apologise for being misinformed, but last I heard it was impossible for it to be randomised (someone had asked about this and was told with the way it was coded it'd be impossible to be random)
@@purukumi4957 I think Gellot meant that the incinerator part has so many fast patterns to memorize that it would be easier if it were rng with a smaller set of combinations instead. Also there just isn’t any warning for any of the flames popping up, making it even harder and more annoying

@@AccessDen Achievements can ruin a game if you force them, for example 100% achievements can make your playthrough just turn into arbitrary checklists, unless you are one of the people who go for plats or equivalents on other platforms and enjoy that, there isn't really much of an actual reward

After seeing the title I assumed this was Terraria torch god, but man what I was shown was so much more impressive. I can’t even imagine how skilled you are at memorization, and trying to remember while getting nervous since you’re near the end? For me I would have to rely on just muscle memory, which could take hundreds or even thousands of attempts. Never heard of this game, but now I think I’m gonna have to check it out. Seriously, good shit

After trying this myself I have a new appreciation for the absurd amount of effort it took to achieve this. Jesus Christ it’s hard to describe how difficult this is but you make it look entirely effortless. Amazing work!

As far as I saw, there aren't many no hit videos for incinerator part 2 or incinerator in general but you are the only one I saw who didn't luck out as much but was actually dodging in quick successions.
